I always liked this scheme for KCS. I think this is the bigshots engines.

I just added a pair of CSX AC4400CW's in YN2 to my roster (got a good deal, plus had some of those $15 MRC decoders hanging around waiting to be used :))

    Will post pics tomorrow

Anyone for a little bit of Eurosteam?

I got lucky, ebay purchase, "Don't know much, untested, as-is, yada-yada"
Usual code for "This is junk"... but I thought it would make a nice display anyway.
It was untested because it was still in the factory box, sealed with yellowing scotch tape. NOS, apparently.
Ultrasonic bath, dried and lubed, and it runs perfectly.
Now I have to buy some cars for it and build a layout. *sigh* Model railroading. Always something that needs doing.
Beats sitting around with a beer, zombied out in front of the TV.

Peter, that looks really good. You are correct about the need to start buildin a layout just for it,:tb-rolleyes:

Thanks, Ken. I really don't do N scale for lack of space, but I've always loved the KPEV steam look. I've ordered some flex track from the Monster and some cars from the Bay-DE, so I can build a long shelf oval. I wonder what the tightest radius that this engine will navigate is? Any ideas? Or do I just experiment with the flex? Maybe Tomix 140mmR...
I've got room for a 12' shelf, but only 14" deep.

Two Athearn BN F45s with sound. These are the first Athearn locos that I have purchased. They ran OK until they encountered a switch, in checking the truck wipers two were bend down so they were not making contact. Funny thing both locos had the same wipers bend. I decided to repair them myself so it was done right! Don't try this unless you have had a lot of experience in working on n scale locos!
They are not as smooth starting as a Atlas or Kato but once they get moving they run and sound great!

Just picked up an Athearn V&T 2-8-0... Now trying to figure out a way to put a DZ125 in it.

Next week though, I should have the Kato Amtrak 40th Anniversary P42DC. :tb-biggrin:

    I don't have new Loco's.

There are a few Loco's they need some extras to look like real.

I just bought a whole collection of N scale from a fellow Nickel Plate enthusiast - he is focusing on HO. Included are 2 Rivarossi Berkshires, 2 Kato Mikados, 1 Lifelike PA1 and 3 GP9 TT along with about 100 freight cars, a set of heavyweight passenger cars, many structures, a bag of cars and trucks and sectional Atlas track and switches. In all 25 pounds. Interestingly, I am beginning to build the yards of Lima Ohio and have been concerned that I had only about 50 freight cars, which were employed by 2 freight trains and now i can fill my yards.

It's been a while since I've bought some new locos. These babies came in the mail while I was away on my hunting trip.
