My four(4) latest purchases: DRGW GP-9 EMD Demo GP30 GBW ALCo C-420 The C-420 was an Atlas limited run. NS SD70M's
Figured Id post a video of my two new ACe's.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feInqgHrCNI The video is low quality cause its off my phone..
Like many others, I need to take photos but my recent purchases (last 4 months) for locos is just two units. A FVM BNSF GEVO and a Kato ACe 4141 - the George Bush engine (which I'm surprised no one else has mentioned getting).
Quite well on non-DCC.. It's a bit slower than the kato's.. Quite a strong puller. I'd recommend them.. Nicely detailed too.
Ive got a few of the IAIS gevo's on my list.. The 4141 is down pretty far on my list.. Id like to get the Rio Grande and WP Heritage units first.
I haven't taken any photos yet but my last new engines were two Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0s and one B'mann 4-8-2. As well as a "new to me" Con-Cor 2-8-8-2. I plan to build a module for outside photography.
Bought a fairly cheap PC SD35 and kitbashed her into the GM&O's ex-EMD SD40X demostrator... Gotta love those GM&O 'redbirds'~
I haven't purchased a lot of locos lately but I got these two because I like and run both road names on my layout. The Atlas dash 8-40CW CSX YN3 paint scheme is a smooth, great running and very nice detailed loco and its DCC and also runs great with my other CSX YN2 dash 8's. The Atlas GP38-2 GM&O is also a great running loco I got this at a great deal off ebay also DCC and when the guy sold it he didn't know it was DCC lucky me. Now I have four GM&O GP38.
I always liked the GM&O but they are a little harder to model in N scale since you really have to search for rolling stock and locos or make your own.
