Sumpter Valley, Third Time

On May 15, Martin Hansen had another photographer's special at the Sumpter Valley, the "Stump Dodger," in eastern Oregon. Alco 2-8-2 No. 19 will run out of flue time later this month, and the proceeds will help in her Form 4 work. A group of folks from the eastern USA came out for this one for the first time. For me, it was the third. The place is so photogenic.

I just love those this shot! Nice steamer up front with two colorful pretty looking box cars masked with gorgeous scenery!

 

The scenery out there is gorgeous, even the mining tailing that are all over the place.

Nice photos, Fitz! Some day I hope to get out there for a photographer's special.
