"I cannot accept a compliment from an Aussie, no matter how freaking AWESOME my trees are. In dental terms, fair dinkum means the resident dental student exactly matched the color of the surrounding teeth; but the student did not match the color of my red rocks. I flunked him." -- Robert Schadroff, DDS, Adjunct Professor of Dental Colorimetry and Restoration Procedures, Tufts University.

I'm really sorry; I went through two hours of a discourse on why Xtreme DENTAL PrecisionColor DB6200 fluorescents at $37.50 a lamp were so far superior in color rendition to GE 6200 UltraWhites at $3.75 a lamp that I'm sick.

Of course, you know that DB6200 means that they are Dynamically Balanced and worth ten times the cost, although they only last one-tenth the time!

Dynamically balanced is not a term I would apply quickly to Bob Schadroff, his real name. Adjunct means you are not on a tenure track; you are an instructor: so you ran the lab, Bob?

This guy disgusts me. Inflated credentials, inflated career, inflated success in the markets. He was born richer than ten of the most wealthy of us.

Yuck! Yep, I've done some looking around.

I completely agree. I'm almost offended at how blatantly he throws about his elitist ego.

How many gout stools do you think he has for when he needs to reach the far corners of his layout?

Watch for his response to this one, folks:

    Bob,

I admire this photo due to the wondrous number and variety of locos and trains, but I have to wonder: where does the loco on the roundtable bridge go? Will it fit on the dead tracks about 60 degrees to the right? It's obviously headed out from the roundhouse. Just wondering . . .

I just wonder what will happen next . . .

To quote that great philosopher Ron White,

"Well (fie on) you, Schadroff, you miserable old (insert string of profanities)................"

Or at least that's what I'd like to say to him.

Yes Pete, I know your quote was tongue-in-cheek...........it was also pretty much what I would expect from that guy.:tb-wink:

OK, so now we know he was a flunky teacher in a dentistry school program.

And do my eyes decieve me, or is that Puffball Mountain in the distance?

I usually go easy on adjuncts because I know that so many in the practice of architecture who do a little bit of teaching end up being adjuncts partially as a function of the school they are working for not taking their contributions seriously. A lot of architecture schools take on lots of adjunct faculty members to teach specific subjects or even studios but get away with not paying them as much as if they were regular faculty.

But, since he puffs up his credentials he does open himself to criticism.

    1. I will not comment on the Aussie expressions. I never have, do not now, and will never, understand you guys. I am in an RTS clan playing Company of Heroes and we have about ten Aussies with whom I communicate while playing using Teamspeak. I might as well not have it on since I can't figure out what they are saying.

    2. I have had soft stool, hard stool and just right stool. What is a gout stool?

    3. Bob's yeardmaster should be shot. Too many trains on too few tracks. Only one Bachmann pre-built trackside (not yard sized) coaling tower. No water tower, no sand facility.

    4. Train on turntable looks too big to fit into a stall in the roundhouse.

    5. Other comments- Mig-17's were not flown in the Korean War. They flew Mig-15's. The Russians were not letting go of the 17's to Chinese pilots since it was their brand new hot fighter, which saw service as late as the Vietnam War. They would have destroyed each F-86 encountered.

    6. He can take his money, whether earned with his hands, invested, inherited or taken from the tills at 7-11's throughout the US at gunpoint, and put it where the sun don't shine. Actually, I am so incensed, I want to go there and rip his still beating heart out of his chest through his ass and punt it into the nearest wall.

    Am I being too subtle?

    Mark,

    A couple of points -

    1. Same happened the UK with an Aussie boating magazine where I had to translate a few sayings like 'relos' (relatives) and 'lergy' (shortened form of allergy but generally meaning the flu). Don't feel alone.

    2. Possibly a compaction of g'out stool (Aussie for get out, stool).

    3. You missed the rocks and O scale ballast infesting the yard area, though excused due to it being hidden behind the myriad of locomotives.

    6. Subtle? Most certainly. Shall I copy and paste your comments to the thread? I will accredit you with the words of course. Don't want another Joe Daddy-like plagiarism issue in one of his threads... :D
