That thing's coming my way soon, what's the half-life of that stuff? Guess I'd better go shopping for a lead apron...
Shouldn't be hard to spot this car now- with the residue from this load, it'll glow in the dark. :tb-rolleyes:
You all are worrying too much. TBX 3401 has just picked up what is probably the first load of the super-secret, 2nd generation, troll doll hair. Christmas is coming and this will be the next "gotta have it toy" for kids. Think of the improvement over 1st generation troll doll hair!
During the night, TBX#3401 came back empty into North Yard and when the Yard Master heard what I saw he wanted that car out of here. He noticed that it was schedule to head east and started making calls to see if he could hook it up on ANY train and get it out of here TODAY. Luck would have it, a D&H Private Excursion train was heading out of Denver UNION Station at 3PM and they agreed to haul it at least as far a St. Louis Missouri. You better believe he didn't tell them about last night as they hooked up TBX#3401 between the engines and the passenger cars. A few hard bangs on the couplers to get this freight car hook into the passenger consistent and off it went.
Oh goody.......first toys from China with lead in the paint, now troll dolls with radioactive hair from COLORADO. The consumer advocates will have the mother of all hissy fits over this one................:tb-rolleyes::tb-wink::tb-biggrin:
I'm just glad I model in HO so that I don't have to host this car. Darren, did the car shop "clean" this car before sending it east? You could have some sick passengers on your hands with that car spotted ahead of the passenger cars.
From what I could see from the tower it was empty with a few rust marks on the inside wall from something eating at the metal. The rough coupling between the engine and the TBX#3401 might also cause a derailment or some weird wear on it's wheels.; but, at least it's heading out of town. After seeing that "stuff" in the car this weekend I tell you I wouldn't want to be riding behind that car right now... :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky: :tb-wacky:
With society the way it is today, I would be willing to bet the first lawsuit will be filled before the first station stop.
Whatever that stuff is, and however toxic it was, no amount of cleaning will make it safe, I'm betting.... Whoever catches wind of this movement next, give wide berth, knowwhatImean?
When it gets down here, I'll put it to work hauling crushed limestone. A couple of loads should help knock down the toxicity.
Anyone know if that D&H Private Excursion train made it to St. Louis? I wonder if they didn't stop shortly after they left Denver to rid themselves of our gon because of people getting sick?
I heard it was headed east, but it has not appeared on any of my orderboards yet, but may show up monday or tuesday.
TBX 3401 on the TCC lines But there's a problem, the hotbox/dragging equipment detector was set off. and the TBX gon is the faulty unit. after a quick look by the brakeman, the damage is clear, the bearing is gone, and the extra friction has caused the wheel to eggshell and crack. The inspector drives over from the shop, and one of the mow trucks arrives to check the damage. The shop inspector decides to set out and drop the car here at the siding for repairs, and to send the train on it's way.
Dispatcher sends TCC 13, a 44 ton switcher, out to pick up TBX 3401, with track warrent for slow orders to the Turtle Creek car shop. But just as the air is pumped up, the radio crackles, "TCC - 13, Hold for UP 8167", so much for getting home in time for dinner!
