I was going to make some NP cabooses the other day, and realized this model needed to be updated for better detail. What was ok a few years ago is not good enough now, so this is what I came up with for the NP 1200 series:
Just a few of my random beese... sorry, this one was before the couplers were put on.. But, I just love this one..
I would be tempted to, after all I do love cabooses. Within the next 2 or 3 years, when my semiconductor equipment job is outsourced to Singapore, (I have already been notified) I'm pretty sure I will need to rely on my caboose making skills to make a living, so any caboose is fair game. Is there a site or historical society where I can find drawings and pictures?
Heres some Kits I assembled (sorry no bashing) CP & CN Athabasca etched brass ,and Canadian Pacific Kaslo resin
Not sure if i have posted these before but I love cabooses. Here's a vote in favor of Boxcabs suggestion Another favorite I'm going to have to come up with some new material though, been awhile since I built a caboose. Tom L.
L&N 82 Tom did just a GREAT JOB on the M&SL hacks. Not a road you often see modeled. Here is my latest. Also not modeled a frequently as many. Louisville and Nashville 82. A wood caboose with lots of color and very distictive end rails.........
Thanks Marty! You are the king though! You probably build more cabooses in a month than I have in several years. Is's the !@#$ handrails and grab irons! I cringe at the thought of them. I've gotten some pre-formed ones including some BLMA curved grabs to use on the sides, but I still have to force myself to sit down put em on. Tom L.
