Where can I find a picture of the UP all grey scheme ( Stealth scheme ) with the red stripes? Thanks, Scott
At first, I thought you were referring to the UP 8444 in Greyhound scheme: http://www.socalrailfan.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=4734 I would ask this in the UP forum. As an alternate, join the UP Yahoo list, and you're sure to get some info there!
^ Nope, they had a unit (maybe more???), that went out of the shops in all grey primer with red stripes, during a motive power shortage. It's a one off. I'd try rrpictures.net. and see what comes up.
Is this what you are thinking of, Scott? Here is a thread about one on RailroadForums.com. Look at post #26. Also a different photo on page one of that same thread.
Apparently that loco (#6344) didn't spend too long in that scheme. It was originally an SP unit, repainted stealth in late 2006, and by late 2007 it was in Armor yellow: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1169466 Looks kind of neat in stealth though.
I think they should paint their whole fleet like that. Maybe add some red on the nose and rear end also, and then let them get good and grungy
While examining the locomotive a closer look, the upper section is all in Harbor Mist Grey. However, the trucks, fuel tank, undercarriage (frame) were all in SP Grey. So it's really a two-tone grey UP 6344. http://www.locophotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=44953
