Key Imports made the AC-9 in N-scale in the 1990's. Probably much more difficult to find than the cab-forwards that flood ebay right now.
Those are super rare. I don't suppose I've seen more than a half-dozen show up on eBay over the past decade (and I've been outbid on every single one of them). Cheers, -Mark
Mark, been there, done that! Since I retired in 1996 I think I bid on 6 AC-9's on eBay, no luck. I will be most happy to finish one of Jason's. Carl
Could we just have AC-9s with oil tenders instead? I could use three or four for my future Modoc layout.
The real challenge manufacturers have to overcome is making a system of blank boiler parts which can become the basis for multiple road specific steam engines. They will also need to come up with a flexible design for drivers and chassis that can be adapted as well for multiple road specific configurations. I find it difficult for this to work for most current manufacturers unless they have there own facilities and can patiently work on this project. The profit incentive would have to take a back seat to the love of the hobby. Sent from my ALCATEL ONE TOUCH Fierce using Tapatalk
