Wow!!! You do some awesome work Hien!!!! And the end results are always in BNSF's favor(and mine too)!!! Don't stop!!! Hobo Tim
Last past weekend I spent time at Robert's place to install CR 4 on my laptop and with his big help on hand training, I finally finished my first decal set I always wished for. Here is my decal on custom painted loco.
GREAT JOB, HIEN! As always! This seems to be a popular paint for the SD40-2's. I have one, too... by the world famous Gerd in OzLand. http://www.zcentralstation.com/comp.../engines_22/021209014_20091202_1712619786.jpg
Alex, you wanted them to look old, dirty, and beat-up and here they are. I even scratched car side body, hope you don't mind. Hien
Nov 2006 Seems as though there's a little bit of copying going on here! First Gerd and then Hien, or is it Hobo Tim, Gerd, then Hien? In 2006 an AZL brass SD40-2 was sent to me along with 10 MTL Husky's for a re-paint job into you guessed it, Maersk Sealand!!!! Here are a few photos of the end result!!! These babies shipped shortly there after to Switzerland where they reside in a good home! No matter who builds or re-paints them, they all look wonderful!! Great Job Gerd & Hien on your works of Art!!!! Hobo Tim p.s. The only reason the roadnumber is 8083 and not 3329 is I had no way of modifying the AZL number boards at the time. Just think of it as the second NS loco to be a re-paint in MS colors!
Nope Sorry, I did not get a photo of the whole thing. I did not have any module or layout to buld a scene so I just took a few photos. My memory fails me often but looking at one of the photos I did not post it appears to be 10 MTL cases in the shipping box. Jurg will be the one to saw if it was 10 or maybe 8, but he has them all!!! GP9 Chop nose She just had a major surgery, nose chopped down and cab's windows are installed and basic details as well. Hien.
Looking good but to me the windshield is set too high in the front of the cab. The GP9 shop noses I am familiar with the bottom of the windshield is almost level with the top of the nose as the window gasket is right down on the top of the nose and the top of the window panes are level with the top of the windows in the cab door. Like the rim detail you have around your windows. Which RR will this be decorated for?
Hien, Real nice work. Question, "looks like you used the cab windows from the GP35 as your donor?" I'm getting ready to bash a AZL GP7 into a CF7. I'm looking at different methods for the cab mod right now. BTW where's 7502?
