Here's my rendition of KCT HH900 #50. It's an Atlas HH600/660 and I've added Tsunami Sound for the turbo charged prime mover. This thing sounds awesome! Still need to finish the decals with a second round of setting solution and Dull Coat.

Dale, the plane is a Doyusha 1/100 737. Simple math tells us the plane is just about 13% smaller than HO scale. Normally, Boeing uses an 89ft flat for the fuselage, but the plane will not hang over the back end of the flat using an 89ft tofc flat. If you take 87% of 89, you get right about 75ft. Walthers used to produce a 75ft flat. I have been buying them on ebay. As you can see the selective compression gives the right look and feel. I still use a 60ft flat for the idler car, which is prototypical. The fuselage mounts and icebreaker were designed by a friend and printed by shapeways.

Tested the 2-8-0 and the Mike on the bench. Adjusted the mesh on the 2-8-0, lubed them, and they both purr. I'll get handrails on the 2-8-0 tomorrow and post a final. Dave
So, went to a train show today. Only one I ever go to anymore. Found some parts...then came across this booth with a bunch of stuff marked "as-is". There is a die cast 0-4-0 with slopeback tender...and I knew what it was, Zamac rods and all. So, for five bucks, I got a complete Yardbird, bad paint, needs tender truck repair (all wheels, one sideframe and springs), got it running good, lubed up, boiler is in the tank right now encouraging the remnants of the poor paint to dissipate. I also happen to have a spare Yardbird complete tender with trucks, so I might just swap it in. No photos yet...wait for the paint to go away. Dave
Since my access to a glass bead blaster died Saturday (shop sold and moved), I have some old brake fluid in a jug. I could use paint stripped, but give this an overnight shot.
Glass beading is great. That's a tool I wish I had. At one time through one of my businesses I had access to one. Used to sneak in a metal railroadiana item now and then. Made those restorations a snap.
I'm building a 42" x 15" diorama that will have powered track for testing locomotives, doing DCC installs, sound file installs, etc. Before starting my first layout I thought it might be a good idea to learn some scenery skills on something smaller.
Deceided to add some flare to my reading RS3 because I always forget to take a picture before I start. Cut rain gutters out of .020 polystyrene. Popped off the fan grill and weathered underneath. Made the 2nd Exhaust Stack out of 12g wire, filed to fit the contour of the hood, and drilled the core about 1/16th so it roughly looks like a stack. Soldered a Details west Fire Crackers to a piece of solid core telephone wire to resemble the conduit on the prototype. Added Hi-Tech rubber air lines and MU hoses. Also sponge weathered the wheels while the side frames were off. After some airbrush work. Finished product, Not quite as tired as the prototype. But close enough for me.
I like your start on the diorama. What is the product you're using to create the bridge? I need one of those. Hope to see more updates on your progress.
