Great work, Mike. You have an eye for color. And the color is more important than rail size. Wolfgang
Thanks Reinhard. I'm very impressed with the quality of the kit. Colours used: Jo Sonja's Background Colours - Linen [greyish off-white], Charcoal, Chestnut, Willow [green] plus some Red Oxide from some other nameless brand. Strongest rust is Chestnut + Red Oxide, but mostly it's not that strong. Most of it had some Charcoal mixed into it, plus a hint of Willow to control the red. Bleached timbers are Linen+Charcoal+Willow [just a hint of it] More Charcoal added to the mix for the dirtier ties. Mike
Here are some cars that I have just finished building and lettering. This is a Front Range ACF 50' Single Door Boxcar, with an Athearn 10' Door Substituted for the kits 8' Door, car lettered with Microscale Decals. E&C Corrugated Side 52' Gondola, lettered with Oddballs Decals. Front Range 50' Intermodal Flat, Southern Railway built these from excess 50' Boxcars. The Trailer is a Durango Press Kit that I wanted to use for the metal wheels and landing gear to add weight to this car (no place for weight). The Flat was lettered with Oddballs Decals and the trailer with Herald King Decals. Thanks for looking!! Rick
It's been so many years since I've assembled ANY model, but this was a fun little job. Still working on smaller bits & pieces.
This just came off of the workbench. It's sister unit, 767, is still in the paint shop waiting for some parts to show up that were missing from the kit.
