Just some kit building on my workbench. No where near the quality of the great looking scratch built stuff in some of the other post.

Sunday, I made some progress on my Mogul detailing project. I added steps from the running boards to the pilot deck, fabricated new handrails, moved the bell, and added air hoses and a larger generator. It is beginning to look a little more "B&M-ish"than it did "stock". More piping, a TCB, and a repaint will complete the project.

I've got some of it figured out. Now I just need to start building, after I finish the HO cars. I'm thinking kinda like a VTTX car or a drop center car. I'll post up a thread in the Narrow Guage forum when I start..

Great stuff everyone! Love how this topic took off!

I put some more time into the mill I showed in the first post here.

I cut out some windows and a loading door, then raised the foundation to allow for a loading platform. I gave the awning some support beams and a rain gutter complete with spout (kinda hard to see from the white wash). I finished it up with sheet of styrene for the sign where the mill's name will go. Tomorrow I'm going to make a trip to the LHS and try to find some cheap paints and get some color on this model and the models shown in the computer aided scratch building thread. I cant wait to see them in color.

Love that mill, no chance of a plan so that us mere mortals can cut one out?

    Regards, Roger.

    WOW...

That is a great looking scratch built structure

Got any photos of the other elevations? Is this the trackside elevation... or truckside elevation?

Three NKP-style cabooses getting ready to be painted in my freelance scheme. Also, lots of leftover stuff from the last five or six projects. Darn, now I need to clean my bench. Thanks a lot, guys!!

This is a RSlaserkits 55' Wooden truss bridge. It still need some paint touch up. I also added Grandt Line NBWs. That just about drove me crazy.

    Absolutely nothing.

I moved two weekends ago, all my train stuff is in boxes. Most all of my stuff is in boxes, period! Slowly unpacking and finding spots for everything. I have a lot of the garage cleared now, and I dragged my workbench into a likely spot. And there it sits, totally bare-topped.

Yep, something is in the works to get the mill and other templates I'm making distributed. I think pretty soon I'll be ready to send out some evaluation units. Your best bet is probably to keep an eye on the computer aided scratch building thread. [IMG]

No other pictures as of now but I can snap a few later on tonight. The foundation is 3/8ths inches tall right now, so the top of the loading platform is about 60 scale inches tall. This is meant to be trackside, so I'm going to have to cut it down a little.

Well Mike, can't argue that it's looking great so far; can't wait to see your progress.
And SP how can you go wrong:tb-wink:

Finally finished 44 ton Milwaukee #992.

It has Z scale MTs, a Detail associates bell mounted on the hood, BLMA trainline hoses and modified BLMA cab shades.
Oh, and under the hood there's a Train Control Systems Z2 decoder and SM LEDs.

    Thanks Mystere,
These little engines just run super sweet too. Maybe the best way to resist living without one is to get TWO!

In a heartbeat! One of my first posts on TB was asking if a 44T existed in N scale a few years ago. Unfortunately, now that one does, the finances dictate otherwise. In time though, in time. [IMG]

Just returned from the hobby shop with a fresh batch of paint, now I'm ready to begin putting color on these scratch builds. I tried to go the cheap route, figuring I could mix and match these base colors to get secondary and tertiary colors. Anyone notice the stupid mistake I made? [IMG]
