Hopefully they come to market soon! That unit looks simply amazing!! I started looking through Railpics for units to "pool," (NS, possibly CN) and woo woo woo for a shell. It may be a while before I get the courage to chop up a shell like that (and get a ACe frame to put it on) but eventually...
Now that I can see the pictures - GREAT WORK. Even though I'm not an "active" modeller, I still appreciate great work and do hope that when I become active again, that I might be able to pick up a couple of these detail sets.
Tin that came out fantastic. Question still stands are there any of the Detail Kits available? Ok I read further and answered my own question. Waiting on Pat to designate a release. Got it.
The model is looking great so far. I'm interested in where you got the etched parts as well. I would like to have a NS SD70M-2.
Early phase SD70M-2s have a sheet-metal 'wing' below the cab on the left side of the unit, that would be a good additon to the detail set.
Hein thanks for posting this info. Picked up a couple from them. And the SD's look great on their site. Excellent job Glen
Hien, Just out of curosity, what brand and color of "orange" paint did you use on the CN units? I had been using Accupaint AP-18 (CN Red/Orange) but can't seem to find any anymore. Thanks. Jeff
Hi Jeff, I am using Floquil SOO line red part number F110450 for all of my CN loco. You can find it at any hobby shop Happy New Year. Hien
I painted my grabirons all to have the paint peel off during adding them to my sd40-2. What's your technique in keeping the paint from chipping.
