As posted in the new GEVO thread, the answers to many of our questions. http://www.foxvalleymodels.com/NGEVO.html
I like the model, the quality looks good, I just wish the BNSF units were H3, not H2. I wonder if there are plans to add that to the lineup
I can't wait to see the future release with other schemes like BNSF H3, CSX, and the best on all CN:thumbs_up::thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
He hasn't said so. It's not one of the headlight configurations show in pictures. OTOH, he hasn't actually announced when NS locos will be coming, either.
Looks like this will be a cool model but as it says on the web site, it will be hit or miss as to what prototypes will be done. The FVM web site says there are 20+ variations of the GEVO and they are doing 6 which is all they say they can justify based on cost at this point. Any way it goes, this is going to be a good representation of a cool engine. I'm looking forwad to getting a couple or more. Thanks to FVM for stepping up for this model.
NS GEVO The NS paint scheme can be pre ordered -> http://www.pwrs.ca/announcements/view.php?ID=1787 You will have to e-mail FVM if the light will be vertical or horizontal.
I was looking at some of the photos and the rear headlights on most of them have up/down lights 7593 7508 and others I can't wait to get them.
I am more interested in the front headlight being in the cab position that in the nose position. Or will I just have to pretend as I do with my Kato Dash-9's
If there are NS GEVOs that match a configuration for another road, I'm sure Matt will do that loco. (Are there important body differences between an ES40 and an ES44?) That's not accounting for the NS cab headlight, which is unique. I will repeat, however, that no date has been announced for NS locos (most e-tailers aren't taking pre-orders either), so you may have some time to lobby Matt on that issue. Atlas got this correct on the 8-40CWs, so that might add some pressure there.
It looks like the Iowa Interstate have them: http://www.locophotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=103758 and the BNSF H3 DCs: http://www.locophotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=104224 and the NS ACs: http://www.locophotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=97554 But the announced BNSF AC #5719 has low vertical lights: http://www.locophotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=16626 (listed here as an AC4400ES), and the Ferromex: http://www.locophotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=52052
ES40DC ( in the 7500 series ) has the back headlight up and down. The ES44AC ( in the 8000 series ) has the back headlight across. Scott
I see what your saying I just remembered that's the differents between them. Regardless I can't wait for them I have started planning my Asheville S-line layout.
Well this past Tuesday is Club night on the MNSE (Milwaukee N SouthEastern Railroad). Matt from FVM dropped by to show off his wares.... Which included a painted GEVO!! in CP colors..... Nice Unit Matt!! Jerry Gunderson
Those big red GEVOs look awesome. This is going to be an expensive end of year between the FVM GEVOs and the Kato CSX SD70ACe & doublestack sets. It doesn't matter what roadnames come out first--not gonna let one of these new locos come out and not make its way onto my rails. Thanks for posting those great pics. Jamie
