Don't judge Athearn on past releases, I've had my four FP/F45 running flawlessly at a show this past weekend, they run well and sound great.

I haven't got my latest NSR yet, but what I find strange about this is that a new model has been announced without the manufacturer identifying themselves, espcially over an engine that should be as popular as a GEVO. I don't recall any of the major manufacturers doing such a thing in the past, so I'm thinking maybe a typo with the ad left out the manufacturers name.

It's no typo. It's listed in the ad directory as "Ad of Mystery"

Sandro's comment clears up a lot.

Sorry, as I said, I hadn't seen NSR yet and "Ad of Mystery" hadn't been mentioned in the thread. Could you elaborate on your last remark, all I read from Sandro's post is that it's not Athearn. Whatever their reason for the ad it's certainly giving them a lot of promotion on the forums.

I hope it is Kato! The athearn F45 I have I tried with an Kato SD40-2 and others and the F45 wanted to race off and it was trying to pull so hard that the wheels were growling and trucks bouncing. The Kato was quiet as could be. Kato's seem to have a little more pulling power too.

Would the Atlas C40/C40W mechanism be suitable for the GEVO's? I would think so, and if that's right, then it bends my guesses toward Hillside NJ.

Now if Atlas did them it would be OK.......Except for the MSRP!:excruciating:
The Dash 8's sure are purdy and they run good too!

Dave, not directly, as the wheelbase is different. I think the Kato C44-9/AC4400 is either exactly or closer. Still, for some reason I think it's Atlas though - despite a lot of winks and nods towards Athearn. But what do I know?

Somebody on pg 3 with a sense of humor may be more accurate than they think.

I'm guessing PWRS, which would explain Sandro's knowledge and George's page 3 comment. They had talked about doing an engine, I'm gonna guess a PWRS shell on a Kato AC4400 mech. (that would work right?) The only thing is they are usually not this great at keeping a secret!!
    my best!

Bob, it depends on how many posts you see on one page, you can change the setting in your profile...

No way it's PWRS - they would have to rename their company NORTH AMERICAN LOCOMOTIVE AND RAILCAR CORPORATION, LLC, PLC, INC, AG, and that would be just too long....

A lot of people on page 3 had a sense of humor, including George, who previously said something about California.... :) :)

I'm still on page 1. I have no idea where page 3 starts for you guys.:mwacko:

I'm kinda hoping the MSRP is $500, so I can actually convince myself that I can't afford it right now.

I'd rather it be Con Cor than PWRS.
