Wow! New to this board but I just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of praise for your scenery modeling skills - truly, some of the very finest I have ever seen, and that includes professional modelers working in the entertainment industry. As I get ready to start on my newest N scale project I have found this thread incredibly inspiring and informative. Thank you for taking the time to share it with us. Looking forward to more updates soon. Dave
Hello all! I'm sorry for not keeping up with this thread, but I haven't been in much of a train mood lately, in fact I haven't worked on my layout since October! Photography seems to have taken over as my main hobby(and I thought model trains were expensive!) and its more and more likely that I won't be able to finish the layout before I graduate and leave home in a few months. However, after reading your kind words I feel a bit inspired again... Maybe I'll head down to basement soon and see what I can finish off. Thanks Gringo! Why the cookie cutter method? Well for me its just environmental reasons. I knew I would throw the layout away in a few years and didn't want something that would never biodegrade. Besides that, foam would make much more sense! As to ground throws, at this point it doesn't look like I'll be having any turnouts so that's of no concern. Thanks! I'm glad you've enjoyed the thread. Thanks man. The trees are mostly Super trees. I go into detail about them Below. The central VA door layout progress - Page 43 - TrainBoard.com The central VA door layout progress - Page 22 - TrainBoard.com Thank you and welcome to the forum! I'll post some new photos below as soon as I get them processed.
Welcome back online Caleb! Come to think of it.. I haven't done any work on my own layout since around October either! Glad you're having fun with the photography though. Good to hear from you.
Just stumbled on this thread while researching stuff for my hope-to-build-one-day fictitious Northern NJ N-scale layout. Amazing!
I just read and looked at all 63 pages of this thread.. this layout is fantastic.. I have a door layout as well.. but still in infancy stage..lol
Welcome, ctrain07! Good to have you with us. Caleb, it's been quite some time since we have seen some photos--how's about an update on your amazing layout?
