First off let me start by saying I am in no way associated or benefiting from this at all I just wanted to let you guys know of some awesome deals I ran across. If this isn't allowed mods feel free to remove.

KSI Sales is running a January clearance and everything in stock is at least 50% off from what I can see. A couple examples, I bought 2 Atlas GP38-2's for under $100, and several MTL and Red Caboose covered hoppers for $10-$12, the cheapest I found anywhere else for these were $15-$20.

Just wanted to let everyone know, it's not just abscure names either, all mine are BN and subsidiaries and UP.

Who is his company? I have never heard of them. Their web site is a little strange. Prices seem real good.

There is no phone or address for contact, only E Mail. That makes me a little nervous.

Has anyone on TrainBoard ever done business with them?

Totally agree with you about how threads deteriorate, etc. But is there some other way we can inform others about sales constructively?

Maybe someone should start a site called rate my hobby shop so people can go and see the good and bad. But I'm sure that would get shut down for slander.

I've used KSI once and things went smoothly

Never mind what I said. I am withdrawing from this discussion. I have edited my previous two posts.

    "Kato N Scale Locomotives

I'm pretty sure this is NOT how MAP pricing works... any public display of price is an advertisement...

    ...but I could be wrong.

Even their normal prices are pretty good, I was planning on purchasing the Atlas units anyways as they were $59 so when I so they were $10 less then that I had to jump at it. I placed my order yesterday so I will let you guys know how it went.

Since this subject is out for discussion, I feel obligated to fill in some of the gaps:

Regarding the MAP issue, I will not even wade into that already murky water...that being said, none of my current inventory is new enough to be covered by Kato's MAP policy so it really doesn't matter.

As for contact information, well this is not a full time business for me. My phone availability is hit-and-miss so providing a phone number that may not get answered creates a whole different problem. If anyone does need to talk to me in person, you can try to reach me at (6six1)four2eight-2nine3six. This is my cell phone, but please understand that I am not always going to answer, and I am not likely to return your phone call if you leave a message. If you do send a question by e-mail, I try my best to reply as soon as possible. In the end, all business runs through me...I'm not perfect and I do make mistakes but I try my best to provide quick and honest service.

To the original poster...Thanks for the publicity for my current sale, I wish I could say that this clearance sale was for good reasons.

Unfortunately, I like many other small businesses am reaching what is likely the end of my road. My supplier has hit some obstacles (the same obstacles that companies like the Banks and Auto Industry are hitting) that make the purchase of new inventory items difficult if not impossible. Once my current inventory is depleted, my store and business will be going dormant...I will not go as far to say that I am closing my store permanently, but for the time it must take a back seat to other financial concerns of me and my family. For any customers who have orders, I am working hard to try and fill those orders. While I cannot guarantee that these orders can be filled (most of my prior pre-orders were dropped by my supplier), I will do everything I can to fill them. In addition, this also means that I will no longer be taking any future orders.

For those who have supported my store over the past few years, I cannot thank you enough. Helping you all to enjoy your hobby has been great.

For those who placed orders, all current orders have been shipped. For any who haven't visited the store yet, there is still many items remaining and all are being sold at a loss...so it is very true that my loss is your gain ;)

Thank Kevin. Sorry to see your store closing. I've always admired those that run their own small business and those that do it with another full time job even more so. It takes so much work and dedication that it literally becomes your life. Best of luck in the future.

Well, he's been a Trainboard Advertiser for what, 2-3 years now? That's how I found his shop originally.

    KSI

    Pete
I've used KSI a couple of times now and find them to be quite fair and fast. And prices are constantly cheaper than the Comp.
Plus they are advertised on this TB site.
So supporting them is I would guess supporting the TB also.
I'm just sorry that I missed out on those P42 Amtrak phase V Locos they had not long ago; they went for around $50 also.

    Glen:thumbs_up:

PS; Kevin sorry to hear that your having problems currently. I hope it's just temporary. Best of luck with future

I didn't know of the store or his support of TrainBoard. Sounds like a good guy trying hard to run a small business. His business will be missed by his loyal supporters.

I have made several purchases from Kevin over the last couple of years. These have been great transactions with great customer service. I am sorry to see Kevin's store close and wish him the best of luck.
