Maybe it is some odd psychological quirk we are seeing here. Where they get a sort of kick from having items for sale, especially claiming rare and being pricey.
Need to get yourself some of them "EMD" lightbulbs. http://www.ebay.com/itm/EMD-locomot...8719854?pt=US_Light_Bulbs&hash=item1c389a49ee Come on, it says GE right on the box!
And "Train Rough Service" and "USA 25W 75V" are clearly printed on the packaged bulb. Not your everyday 110 volt consumer light bulbs, this product is used in select EMD locomotives that utilize 75 volt bulbs. http://www.bulbspecialists.com/category/86/Railroad-&-Railway-(Train).html?page=1&sort=0&size=100 http://www.bulbspecialists.com/product/SPB-004366/25A15RS.html?cid=86 http://westsidedelivers.com/item.asp?PID=5762 Your point is?
Another lost decimal point or $1425 for a Bachmann house (I let him know): http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350812959718
Someone continues to strip a 1:1 scale locomotive and sell the parts (see past post about locomotive stripping) or Kato has gone to a new drive motor (listed in N Scale>Kato): http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-rods-for-...420226?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item1c38b43c02
Yes, he said that was exactly what happened (lost decimal) and corrected. Quick response from him as well.
I found this in the N Scale category, it is a little too big, but I'm sure it could fit.:cute: http://www.ebay.com/itm/FAIRMONT-RA...947578?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item46155a42ba Judging by the condition of the contents of this lot, I wouldn't pay $300 plus $169 shipping for it. It appears as if every steam loco was put in the box and the box was then given a vigorous shaking. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-N-S...679284?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item33876201f4
The speeder has been here before.I even contacted the guy and told him that listing it in the N scale section is probably not the best idea but here it stays. As for the other trains, he did say in the listing that he 'liked the realistic weathered look, so not really much looks brand new out of the box'. It might be worth the money if that flex track is code 55...oh wait, it's from the 70's, never mind. And $169 shipping...really?
Try screwing one of those 75 volt outdoor service light bulbs into a consumer 110 volt lamp socket and let me know how that works out for you.
An NP GP18 was not used as that person describes it, mostly in yards. They were road power. Both couplers are askew. It has broken, missing or damaged hand rails. Those were hit and miss runners.
What I think they are trying to say is that a GP-18 in that condition would be most likely seen in a yard...on the rip track. I also like the comment that 'everything seems to be where it should be'...couplers aren't where they should be and a big part of the hand rail isn't there at all. Still, I've seen worse where they were asking more...
Did you see the location? Maybe size is different in Lower Alabama. I put in the ZIP code for Manassas VA and it was $201. Really?
Well I know this isn't ebay but I found a blast from the past on Facebook... Censored personal info just in case but still...anyone remember this?!
I put in the ZIP code for Manassas VA and it was $201. Really?
Yep. the same for central Ohio. I was bored so built a generic shipment using the UPS website. Using a 36"x12"x24" box at 60 lbs gave me a rate of $89 and change. And that's using a declared value of $500(remember, it's VINTAGE) that added $4.50 and a fuel surcharge of $5.40. Like to know how that $200 is being calculated. I can't for the life of me come up with an answer that makes any sense. Any ebay savy folks have an answer? After working in the small package and less than truckload industries for most of my career, I have a hard time paying any shipping and handling charges. It's a curse at times..... other times it's a blessing.
I can't for the life of me come up with an answer that makes any sense. Any ebay savy folks have an answer?
He's probably added a handling fee when the lot was listed. There is a box to do just that. I've never used it when I've listed my own items so I'm unsure as to whether it's hidden from the buyer or not.
