The funny thing is, people tend to be more adverse to high shipping costs than high prices. So if he had gone with $20 max (giving them $15) for shipping and a start price between $30 and $40, they would probably make more than by going down the road they did.

Yes. This does seem to be very true.

This might be interesting. That many times unsold and if the decimal was incorrect, he never thought to look closely at his ad for some editing, hoping to achieve better results?

He replied and said that it was indeed a misplaced decimal. Forth time is the charm.

Ha, decimal mistake indeed. It must be a symptom of something else because Look at another of his listings....http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ho-model-tr...162148?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item2581f5d6e4

It's HO, but three Bachman cars do not start at $900.00. And I think he's been told of this issue 400-500 times (just to stick with his way of inflating numbers).

I think if you go back thru this thread, his posts have been cited a number of times, and he's been notified. Each time it sounds like he acknowledges a decimal error but then relists without changing. Ground Hog Day (ie, the movie) syndrome or just something else?

    rocket science

In spite of his nom de plume, "trainmaster**" he's not exactly a rocket scientist when it comes to selling model trains
on eBay. eBay has charged him more than $9000 in listing fees while he's sold less than $1100 in merchandise (all junk BTW).
Plus he's had to pay them and PayPal another 12.9% on those sales and the shipping charges.

In keeping with the 'humor' portion of this thread, who are the mental midgets who would even want the junk he's offering,
much less be willing to pay inflated prices for it? e.g. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161041265456
