O Boy, I caught them there at San Manuel this morning!! There are some more changes and i will let you see some of them and in some ways i got more questions than answers...I will show pic's here but no way to see all i can only put so many here. I don't have a host site here yet but will be looking into it this weekend. I saw workers on the roofs at the old smelter and they are putting in what looks like swamp coolers and i saw other workers cleaning up the "yard" and caught a few workers off guard as to what they are getting ready for and i got the we are always a matter of being "Ready". There was two engines with about 16 cars hooked up and I got shots of them and was also able to get them at the Mammoth crossing as well. I lost them after that as i could not keep up so i lost that train. There was still more hoppers there and looked like more was there this evening. Here are a few: Sorry i lost it all the way here. Wasn't expecting a concrete bridge and was having a heck of a time getting across, and never heard from it again. By the time I took care of some other business and tried again all I saw was those cars near that building and what looked like more. I don't give up easy,I will figure out where they are taking them cars!!! Anyone else have any enlightenments???:tb-wink:
I got this link to check out. Don't really tell much but gives me the same vague idea the guy at the gate did. He said that they have to "Maintain" in case of Activation... SMA Railroad:tb-ooh:
This is the forth time I have taken the time to post about the san manuel line and lost it. this site doesn't like my user name or password or both. If i had to repeat over and over what the tower was trying to say i would have a n\head meet!! I may come back but I am not impressed! Smokey:thumbs_down:

If I'm not mistaken the Magma Mine is/was supposed to be up and functioning by a company from Mexico. I saw something on the news here recently. So hopefully the rails get soem use soon as well.
This last post was around a year ago but i can update. All the RS-3's are gone and all the different engines they had at Superior are also gone. The rails are now quiet and they plan to keep them that way. The crossing guards are gone on rt 77 near Mamouth and i would say that in the future the rest will disappear. The Town of Superior will be booming again. The three GP38-2's are being taken there that were in San Manuel. BHP who now owns the old Magma complexes are opening up a new mine not to far from the smelter complex. The engines will be taking out the ore and product to the mainline at Magma Jct near Gilbert,Az. that is where the connection with the UP is. Its a shame that the SMARRCo. is dead........:ru-unhappy: The town is also as there isn't any work and folks are leaving this area...:tb-sad:
