That scene is starting to remind me of the setting we knew, for a home of my wife's aunt and uncle in eastern Washington.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! I'm getting a bit frustrated not being able to spend any more time on it than I have. But yard work here in Middle Tennessee is pretty much done now - and there was a lot of it this year. Now we have family coming in every couple weeks...but I still manage to sneak down for a bit every now and again. Next thing I think is running power like I did in the south room...another one of those insignificant details that make it more real. Your encouragement is appreciated! I just wish I could make it happen more quickly.
You are getting more done on your layout than I am on mine. I always have less time for the layout in the summer than winter.
Boilerman, about the only time I have for my layout is about 5:30am on Mondays before my garage hits 95f....
Bremner, I feel for you and understand the heat issue, I am lucky, my layout is in the basement and is climate controlled, I just need more time at home as my occupation takes me away from home for extended periods. I was lucky as I have been working in my home town for the last 2 years but that has ended and my next project will no doubt be many miles from my home.
The layout looks incredible! You guys say it looks like eastern WA, or Oregon, I say it also looks like many foothill areas in California The cool thing is, it's a scene almost any model railroader can relate to. But I don't know how you guys do those hot climates! We have a few Summer months in the Sacramento Valley (this is one of them), that average mid 80s to the occasional 100° days, and I sigh at that! IMHO, California Coast's climate is ideal

Very near completion now on the Bealville ranch. I plan to rebuild the board fence by the barn with narrower boards...and I need to guy and string wire on the power poles. But for the present, adding the lighting to the buildings will have to do.
