Although it's a non-operative restoration, I'm glad to see the last of the Geese in for her checkup! :tb-biggrin: More details on my blog here.

No, they don't, but they're going to lay some extra track to spread things out a bit, according to the article. I imagine they'll need some elbow room still.

A cosmetic restoration is better than letting it rust into forever. Maybe some day, it can also be made to run again.

As I was passing through Ridgeway today I saw the Goose sitting out by the building. It looks to be in pretty good shape. Maybe I will have time on my way back to NM to get some shots of her...

Doesn't look too bad, for being outdoors. How is it, close up?

Just as I imagined they'd do, split her and start nook-and-cranny survey measurements. :tb-nerd:

Thanks for the pictures, JCater! It's good to see #4 getting attention. :tb-biggrin:

I was actually surprised at how good she looks. There are a few rusted out areas that I could see. Couldn't get close enough to look inside. I just hope this is the first step to complete restoration. Imagine how fun it would be to ride the High Line in it, or travel over Lavato Bridge on the Chama...

Neat views! I wonder what the source was for the power axles? Any ideas?

Thanks! I believe that the Geese were powered by some model of Buick gasoline engines but I am not 100% sure.

    You're welcome!

Looking at those drive axles on that power truck, and wondering what was used...?
