Here is some U.P. action from this weekend.

Trains were moving slow through Clifton, CO today as MOW crews appeared to be working on a signal.

Beautiful!! I can play--I have plenty of CO action in my albums. They are all older, however.

I tried to get a good drive by shot of UPY 590 but a wooden post jumped into the shot.

Here are a couple of shots of U.P. 6507 headed east bound through Palisade, CO. As you can tell the sun was not in the optimum spot for the pictures.

This is the town where I grew up in. I really miss the area. It sure is hard to get used to seeing U.P power where the Rio Grande zephyr and the tunnel motors once roamed. Great pics. Brought back memories.

Thanks! Here are some U.P. engines that are still Grande in color. Every time I see one of these it brings back memories from the good old days.

U.P. 1445 in Montrose, CO last weekend.

I miss these old stompin' grounds....
Very nice shots! The backlit 6507 shot works pretty well, despite other than stellar lighting.

Yarmony Siding, the last before entering Bond, and the junction to the Craig Branch, finds a coal load tiptoeing eastbound:

More eastbound coal at Milepost 150, on the Dotsero Cutoff:

It's hard to truely comprehend the majestic expanse here without seeing it. Mere pictures don't do it any justice. This is a 7-unit WB empty coal train bound for the Craig Branch, threading west Azure, heading toward Tunnel 39 and 40:

BIG glass is an asset at this location...

These panoramic views are simply spectacular. We need to see more. Trackside 3/4 squeezes, although nice, we see every day...

I'd be foolish to illustrate Upper Gore Canyon without the obligatory Inspiration Point shot:

If you look east from this point, you'll see Tunnel 38:

    Don't look down!!!!

Wow, those red cliffs make that a beautiful shot!!!!!! :) :) If they look that good in the photo, I can't imagine what it must have been like standing there.

They looked fantastic earlier in the day, with all the snow on them. I couldn't get a shot of the snow to work, however. At that location, the canyon narrows somuch that the RR, the road, and the Colorado River are nearly on top of each other. In fact, the tracks are so close to the road, that it looks like a MOW road.
