To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 1947 Freedom Train, I painted up a set of cars.
Here is the PA-1 and Santa Fe Baggage car #1896 at the front end. Click on the photo to zoom in a bit.

We went down to Castle Rock and caught the Royal Unicorn, the B&O’s through passenger train on the RK&M. Today it had a lot of express business and a C&O through car for Washington.

Not really new, but a preview of my next scratch-build. BTW Carl, I still love your Anasazi ruin!

Cool. It goes real well on your module. ;)

I found the Microtrain decal set somewhat lacking in content and accurate information. To decorate the entire seven cars, it took two sets of decals to get enough of the small emblems that were on each of the doors for the display cars and the Pullmans. The instructions had the stripes going all the way to the ends of each car and not ending at the doors, among many other issues. Fortunately there is a great deal of information on line and in the press to do it correctly.

Nice models and scenery work, everyone. It is good to see the variety in tastes and abilities, and of course the execution, both in the model and its presentation in the images. I really enjoy this thread!!!!

Here is my sepia contribution...I hope you can stand another. I really like the effect, and must confess that the change to the images seems to cover some deficiencies...maybe it's just me. :tb-wacky:

Here, Niagara #6001 flashes by on the highland tracks above Seneca Falls with a short stack of heavies.

What's the deal with the headlight flashing on that loco in the front of the video?
