I started with a small diorama when Jeff was visiting me a few weeks ago. I thought I share with you the progress off that building as it goes along over the Christmas holidays. I mostly let the pictures speak for them self. But the layout is about 55x41cm with one manual Marklin turnout inside the mountain. I plan on putting some laser building kits on it that I among other got from Jeff and some off my own. Will se what happens as I go along with the project.
On this side I have used a Kibri tunnel portal. On this side I have used a Faller double tunnel portal.
I like that new rock color. Very Eastern U.S. You guys can see from the below pix that Torsja hand carves these rocks !! Well worth the time and trouble !! .
WOW, torsja! you are an artist with plaster and carving. the rock coloring looks great too. that will be a nice display. i look forward to seeing more. dave f.
Road Bed? Torsja, Did you use any cork road bed or just apply directly to plywood? It looks very good and very realistic!!! Chris-
Yeah what every one else has said. At first the hill looks like cake frosting, but by the time it gets colored it is looking like the real thing. I wish I could borrow a cup of motivation from you ; )
I didn't bother with cork roadbed. The Marklin section track is just held down with doubled sided tape. The ballast is gone fixate it in place when I get to it done anyway. PS: Thanks for the comments guys.
Jedi Master at works ! I would like to be able manipulate the "sword" like this :thumbs_up::thumbs_up:
Looks great! What colors are you using to get that rock color? It has a fantastic look to it, very real.
I basically use Woodland Earthcolours in various shades. Black, Stone Gray, White, Yellow ochre, Raw umber and so on. Not finished yet, Ill wait and se what kind off foliage ill use later on.
