AZL is excite to share the first images of the upcoming Bethgons. The first three roadnames will be Conrail, CSX and NS. Cars will be released in four packs. No release date or pricing as been announced at this time. The cars will ride on AZL's roller bearing trucks. Rob Kluz
Awesome! Very Nice Rob! If I am not mistaken, BNSF has these also. Most likely in the BNSF "Swoosh"! Cool! Hobo Tim
I'll be getting these for sure, especially CSX. I'm hoping they are out by May, these would make a real nice birthday present.
The BN ones had 3 panels on the left painted green with the BN logo, and the rest of the car black, or silver. The BNSF ones came in several color schemes, silver with 2 green end panels and the green and blue ATSF style BNSF cross logo, the silver with 2 black panels and big BNSF letters, Brown and silver with the ATSF cross style BNSF, and the new BNSF swoosh with 1 orange panel. I think they all look cool!
Great Time to be ALIVE! This is a great time to be alive! The silver/green BNSF and the BNSF Swoosh are, in my mind, the best choices for a z scale run! Hope to get one or the other! AWESOME!!!!! Hobo Tim
Well, I'm a sucker for coal gons, and those look great, but I'm just now getting stuff I want in n-scale...don't want to go there again! But those would be what dragged me into z-scale if I was tempted. I could see a not-very-compressed Alliance (NE) yard with about a thousand of those cars and a couple dozen SD70MAC's at the engine facility, flowing into a breathtaking Crawford Hill scene and then finally into the PRB. I was impressed by the z-scale layouts at the WGH show here in Fort Worth...quite honestly some unbeleivable work done in some cases.
Well, I think you guys are wrong. The best three choices were release first. You west coast guys had more then enought new releases to play with. Now its our turn.
Quite right John! I wonder what will come out first, AZL SD-70 to go along with these or MTL SD40-2 that I can paint in CSX colors.
Joe, I am not sure if the first release will have loads or not. I know future releases will. I bet Hay Bros will create loads for these cars. Rob
Boy, almost missed this lucky post !!! Yeow !!! Suuuweeeet ! Now, if the wife leaves me enough money on the way out of the door . . .
Here is an image of the Bethgon parts. You can see thr trucks in the lower left corner. This is a good shot also of the AZL couplers. . I think these should be really good. I can't wait to get some samples to try out! Rob
I hope so Joe. I am desperate for power trucks. Hey, contrats on your layout article in Ztrack! You made the big time, and your layout looks great! Fantastic job Joe!
Thanks Robert. I appreciate it. My 2 year old just gets a kick out of seeing the layout that trains run on in a magazine since he has been my reading buddy for some time. He'll point and say daddy's choo choo? The tough part is you become your own toughest critic as you start thinking of ways to improve and better the work in future layouts.
