    Thanks guys,
With my vision I could not see the drivers. I popped it into a graphics program and adjusted things. Now I can see them.
    I should have known.
    Thanks again.

I just pray that they will have spare parts for the GS eventually. I could use the valve gear for a few other projects.

Wow, some big announcements while I was gone on vacation! Just after I talked about my firm summer of 1995 era, and Kato goes and announces the Daylight! I'm in, can't resist, era be damned :).

Being as how there is no pilot model yet, how sure are we that Kato fully intends to offer the GG1 and Broadway Limited? I should think there is sufficient interest just based on comments here. But without anything more than a show flyer (still waiting for N Scale Supply or the Kato website to say something about it), I've got my hopes up pretty high on blind faith.

Maybe it's that I've been burned repeatedly by PCM on their vaporware PRR M1 (with the magical sliding delivery date) that I have a certain degree of cynicsm... I know Kato's not PCM and has a good reputation of building and delivering what they announce. I guess I'd like to hear from the insiders to say "yea, verily..." that this is more than a mere test of the waters.

    Thanks!

Kato has done what they say they are going to do. A few months ago they told me they were manufacturing a name train as we were speaking, and that it would be here by the end of the year. We now know it is the Daylight. They also told me they were putting the finishing design touches/details on an all-new passenger train that would be out next year. That was obviously the Broadway. I can see why they don't want to officially announce it yet. Too many things can go wrong---like a production glitch, etc.---and then we are saying "Kato is getting like PCM." Six months ago Kato was adhering to the formula of announcing new items as they were on the boat over here, or at the docks. All of a sudden, its here, and its for sale. But why not benefit from a little buzz that can be generated by places like this board? It also gives poeple some time to plan their purchases/cash outlays. Announcing things now can also squash some Centralia sales for sure---especially with the paint problems they've had. And Kato will produce the whole train.

Now, Kato also told me they would like to bring a new name passenger train evey year. Daylight, Broadway...what will be next? They are working on whatever it is---or will be---right now. There is a bunch of lead time to this stuff. I think it may be an El Capitan. Get your requests in now. Remember, they are in business to make money, and they make money by producing things we will buy. Let them know what you want.

As for will the Broadway/GG1 really be produced? In my book, Kato has earned more than the benefit of the doubt. Until they fall down, I'll take them at their word. And although not announced, that poster at the show pretty much says it all.

The next set won't be the El Capitan. The GG-1 Broadway Limited will "Officially" be announced early next year.

The Powhatan Arrow with a "J" on the point would be a natural.

If the credit card ever recovers, I might even "go east" for that one!

    Kato loves Santa Fe---it sells!

Rich: yes, the next one will be the Broadway. We are talking about the next one after the Broadway, which they are developing/thinking of developing, right now. There is about two years of lead time from conception to product on shelves. It seems like it takes them about a year to get the design work done, and about a year from that time to actually produce it and get it in our hands. So we need to suggest models that we would like to see after the Broadway. Now is the time. And quite frankly, we might be a bit late. The finishing touches on the design work for the Broadway was a couple of months ago. They may have already made a decision on the next train. Leon knows there is a lot of demand for an El Cap. That would be a blowout as well. Kato is really bringing some nice products.

It was a long weekend, I should have been more clear in my post. The next set AFTER the Broadway Limited will NOT be the El Capitan.
