Seen west of Chadwick Photo by Mrs. Train Mrs. Train wanted to go rail fanning to get a photo of a train in the snow. We went rail fanning and after setting track side and no train we moved to another location.(see photo below) Photo by Mrs. Train While moving to a new location we spoted our train. The end of the train  Photo by Mr. Train Train in the snow Mrs. train was still at work(Shhhhh)
It's been about 5pm when I get home so I need to be on the south side of the tracks to get the lighting. This one may have been a little earlier I did get off work early one day.
This is a bridge west of Chadwick on the Old C& I line. My friend Tom Kocal, he is a news paper editor. He got this photo while he was out taking photos of the bridge.
East bound heading into Milledgeville East bound CSX We see one of these run through here a couple times a week
Run by on the C&I Only one thing I like more then a meet is to be there with a camera in hand to catch the action.
Does anyone know what happened to Jim? He has not posted on TB since July of 07, used to be a pretty frequent and valued contributor. Brad
Tharms (family) is taking Jim's place, we just need to get "T" to post some of his work here.
Hey guys!! Yes, Jim did a career change and moved away from our lovely C&I. He traded his railfanning jeep in too. I think he's been out a couple times in the last year to railfan since he moved but nothing serious. He's lives about a mile from a CN main now. I'll be sure to start posting some of my shots here in the future. Here are a few from my last excursion: Notice my new railfanning truck on the right Eastbound coming through Steward IL Westbound racks at Shabbona IL. (great little town with a couple trackside ice cream shops)
Tis true, I did do some railfanning a few weeks ago but nothing to post here. Yes I sold my beloved Railfan Jeep Jessica:cry2eh: Tried to replace her with a railfan minivan, but combined with the fact I'm not the minivan type and mechanical problems, I got a new Railfan Jeep to replace Jess. This time its a Grand Cherokee. You'll see her soon along with some pictures cause I've been hunting with her:tb-biggrin: Oh yeah, I'm baaaaaaaaacccckk! Jim
Here are a few from last Galesburg RR Days. Come on Spring, I got the camera and scanner ready! Put me in coach, I'm ready to play!
West side of Chadwick on the Old C&I I shot this photo while I was wating for the below train. West side of Chadwick. Hope you don't mind I croped the photo to high light the Santa Fe 601. Seen at track speed on the west side of Chadwick.
Looks like the C&I is dry, down here in east central IL, all we have gotten since February is rain! Here is one of my favorite pictures on the C&I, taken last Fall at Hazelhurst IL. Looks to be a ghost town now as those grain elevators have not seen service in years and the downtown was abandoned. A red Santa Fe GE, passes a red Jeep. Notice the ex Conrail behind the Santa Fe engine. Looks like a ghost train. Jim
I was there when that was taken. If I remember right, weren't we a little close to the tracks for this one? He came screemin' past and it sounded awesome!!
