Fantasy Schemes - Done or Dreamed Of

I've always like the GLE. It's a great website with lots of ideas for those of us developing our own fictional rosters as also!

 

I'm dreaming (and planning!) of an Ann Arbor loco, thinking either a GP38 or a B40. I have no decalling experience, and no paint yet, but I'd like to in the the future!

 

A few years back, when I was just starting to paint my own locomotives and rolling stock, I did several locomotives based on the Huron & Eastern's first, Pere Marquette-inspired scheme.






I also painted a couple units in this leather and green scheme:


More recently I've been delving into prototypical paint schemes on locomotives never owned by the road the paint scheme belonged to, such as this Alco RS painted for the Port Huron & Detroit Railroad, whose only diesels were Alco S-series switchers.

 

Can I get your opinions on a Goonies inspired Port of Astoria, Oregon fantasy scheme? This is a work in progress...

I have been experimenting with some paint schemes for my fictitious short line. Here's what i have so far:

 

CedarCreek- the Blue one !!! With silver trucks !!!

 

I'm looking for an 80's feel, do you think that the blue version fits?

 

Here is a dash 9 base on a c&o GP35 scheme

 

Here's a SD60M lease ex UP. No prototype I'm sure. Got the idea after seeing mostly ex UP SD90s in this lease scheme.
My real fantasy though would be to try something like an AC4400 in the EJ&E scheme. Maybe someday when I get the courage.

 

thomas, I like your EJ&E idea. I must say, though, mine is a bit crazier. Let's say the "J" took over CSS, for some reason, years ago. Now, imagine an EJ&E GG-1 !!! Would probably be the closest we'll ever get to a Baldwin Center Cab in N !!! Not sure I would have the guts to do it, but it would look pretty cool !!! I have also considered EJ&E F45s, but I should probably finish other projects first, ya' know ???

 

How bout the Milwaukee taking over the BRC ?? ALCo century's in orange and black perhaps ?

Yeah that would be crazy.
As for those center cab Baldwins, you never know. I remember years ago saying "I wonder if there ever gonna make any Alco C628s or C630s, because if they do I'll be all over them". Now I have more than I can run.
You gotta be optimistic my friend.
