Very nice! This summer hasn't been my best for getting pictures - I hope now that fall is on the way I'll get out more. Looking forward to seeing some fall shots from down your way!

I have not been out as much as I wanted too either... It was usually too darn hot!

EB CSX grain extra with an ex-Con in the lead about to cross the NS and HOG diamonds in downtown Cordele, GA. The CSX main in these parts is laid with concrete ties, while the NS and HOG lines have wooden ones.

WB local, after having tied up at Cordele, heading back west. Track just ahead of me is the NS-CSX interchange.

Kinda nice to hear FDL16s chanting by themselves, and also the first time I shot any B36-7s.

    Bob,
Don't see many B36-7's around here any more... I am not sure how many are left on CSX these days... I did catch one recently and it was a surprise to me. I can remember when they were assigned to the hotshot intermodal freights...

Harold and Bob, nice shots. I don't get to see much CSX up here anymore. Those CSX engines with the red marker lights are dead give aways to the Conrail heritage.

I have seen the indicators on many units... including C40-8's, SD60I's & SD60M's, SD80MAC's, SD60's, SD50's, etc... It is interesting that some units have been repainted into the new YN3 scheme with their red classification lights!

Looks like an HLCX unit, possibly an SD45 bodied something,,, could be an SD40-2 or SD40-3. I confess that I don't know. Good catch, though! One of the last HLCX uits I caught, possible # 6400, had "B Unit only" stenciled on the cab windows..

EB CSX junk freight with a GEVO on the point, followed by three SD40-2s, approaching the HOG/NS diamonds at Cordele, GA. The GEVO looked nice, but the sound made by three turbocharged 16-645E3s accelerating sounded awesome

More great photos! I know what you mean about those SD40's... a few weeks ago I caught a trio pulling a really long train and they were a delight to listen to!
