Hey Russ, that caboose looks similar to this one in Denison, TX:

Before the repaint into Sloan Yellow, it was green and numbered 24. Same class, perhaps?

Two cabooses from the Gulf Coast Chapter NRHS were spotted today in Little Rock heading north in the rain.

We had given them a brake job, removed most collectible hardware, inside and out, and generally made them ready to go last winter. They were supposed to travel to San Antonio for Trans Texas Rail to repaint them. However, as discussed in this thread they lost their lease and canceled the job. We found another shop to do the work and they are finally on their way.

I'll take advantage of the fact that you bumped this thread to include a couple of photos.

First one is at the end of a Ferromex (FXE) work train we caught up in either Chihuahua or Durango earlier this year.

The other is another old Ndem caboose, this one belongs to FTVM (essentially the belt and terminal railroad serving Mexico City) and is attached to the regular run of cement hoppers from the Cementos Anahuac plant just north of Mexico City. We shot this one last year. I'm not sure why, but they regularly run the caboose on this train.
