Here is a pic of the 2005 x-mas train over the Grand River bridge in Cambridge that my uncle took after he got them to stop it there. http://www.trainboard.com/railimages/uploads/5513/CP_X-mas_train_2005.jpg And you can find pics here as well on CP's site. http://www8.cpr.ca/cms/English/General+Public/Holiday+Train/Photo+gallery/default.htm
George, I have a few pictures from when it was in St Paul, MN. I have a close up of every car if anyone is interested.
I wonder what the CP holiday train schedule will be for 2008 pre-Christmas season. Fist time posting for me, Graham (alias Fireman1)
Graham - Welcome to TrainBoard Your post made me go out to the CPR website. Check out the two topics I just posted that CPR just posted yesterday on their website. Going to be meeting up with it in Bowmanville, ON on Dec. 1. My wife is excited to go, and she doesn't even like trains much! I'll be taking as many pictures as possible of course.
Looking forward... Looking forward to Dec. 5 here in Muscatine,IA... going to be a challenge to keep the kids awake (10:15 to 10:45pm) on this end. First time for the train through our area.
The train stopped in Beaconsfield, Quebec, last night at 7:00pm, and I went out to see. Quite something; about five box cars, covered in LED lighting, one of them converted into a stage. Trailing that there are a few vintage CP passenger cars for the band, crew, and other people with the tour. There was a coach car, sleeping car, dining car, and what appeared to be a lounge, all beautifully and extravagantly restored. I could see through the window there were a bunch of kids on board, who I suspect were probably employees' children. God I wish I could ride with the tour; it would be amazing to travel across Canada on the CP line; these days the only regularly scheduled trip is on VIA Rail's The Canadian, and it only follows the CN route, with the exception being between Sudbury and White River, Ontario, where there is still regular service...I don't know why they don't sell tickets for the christmas train, I'm sure it would be very popular, and it would help raise money for the food banks. Last night it sat in the yards at cote-st-luc, and today it's continuing on to St-Lazare, and then Smiths Falls, Ontario.
