I stopped at the Post Office this morning to buy stamps. I always ask if they have anything with trains or automobiles on them and the clerk showed me these "Railroad Stations" stamps in the train category. Pretty neat I thought, so I bought a sheet of twenty. Y'all might be on the lookout for these at your Post Office.
That's really cool! You can Google them and takes you to post office and explains what stations they are.
This stamp was first announced last October. https://about.usps.com/newsroom/national-releases/2022/1024-usps-reveals-stamps-for-2023.htm The USPS usually previews the new stamp issues for the following year sometime during October of the preceding year. In a month, or so, search for "USPS stamp program 2024" to see the new issues for next year.
I was tempted to get this sheet with the golden splke locomotives when it came out. Sort of wish I did. This set is out of my comfort zone. https://store.usps.com/store/produc...tal-railroad-commemorative-boxed-set-S_570429
Those are beautiful, with textured, gold-colored surfaces. For better or worse, I use all of my stamps. Some day when my family must deal with my stuff, they won't much care about things like this.
I think I have one of the stamps Russell has the sheet of somewhere. I did get the Transcon set as a Christmas present from my wife when it cam out. It is cool.
Somewhere I have a page of the Milwaukee Road Hiawatha stamps, and whatever else came with them? Somewhere...
I sure hope you are correct. Then perhaps the Railway Express brass bulb wax sealer I have been searching boxes for months will magically reappear...!!!
