It was a pleasure to watch the move from the fabrication facility to Riverside Park in Muscatine, IA. And yes, you can say that I was the star of the picnic. Even got interviewed by the local TV station for the Quad Cities…WQAD-5 https://www.wqad.com/article/news/l...rain/526-01e5dbba-ee4e-4461-8a74-916e8b3775c0 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You are so right! And the [Edit] selection is now gone. A friend had this LP and I thought it had the coolest illustration.
I seem to want to say the same thing every week about the great photos and the witty comments. Hmm, maybe it's because every week there are great photos and witty comments?
Ah, yup! The Allman Brothers replaced them after they went nuts. They found that peachy. As the article states, it was a one-in-a-melon moment.
The other end on the platform says "OIL". Maybe it has something to do with an oil burning stove inside. The stove pipe on the roof is not far away.
Hmmmm. This might be it. Doesn't a toilet usually have a small vent stack through the roof? Or was this built back in the straight through to tracks dump days?
If I had a dash camera, I would have a great picture to share today. Yesterday morning, I was driving westbound into Akron, Ohio to sit with one of our church folk, having open-heart surgery (it went well so far) and in the eastbound lane was a tractor trailer hauling what looked like a shiny new passenger railroad, light rail, or subway car. There was too much traffic to get any details or even be sure about colors, but that's definitely not something I see every day. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Russ for the win! I confirmed with the restoration curator and the tech that it is the fuel line for a kerosene stove.
