When I get rich, (ha ha), they have a DVD set of the whole series available. I want it!

I got it! It's well worth the price (from several years ago).

That kind of humor hasn't been seen in a long time.

If you gave Red Green a light West Virginia accent, you'd have my father-in-law. His humor was quite similar, too (and he liked Red Green). We miss him.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before but here's another tidbit or two: Huntington, WV also had a few Boron (TM) stations, but on the Ohio side they were SOHIO (Standard-Ohio, I suppose). Before Exxon, Huntington had Esso stations but in Kentucky--at least between Catlettsburg and Ashland to around Grayson, they were Enco. Same gas, just different labels. Dad, I think, got tired of me asking why these gas stations had a backwards 3 in their names!

Wasn't Red Green played by Don Herron? Now that would be something, trying to slide or glide a "light" WVa accent (Huntington area comes to mind!) to a Canadian actor! This would be just like Don Herron playing "Charley 'KORN' Farquaharson" on Hee Haw!!

Red Green was played by Steve Smith. Don Herron did have a few guest appearances on the Red Green Show as Charlie Farquharson, who lived in Parry Sound (and complained of the stench wafting all the way down from Possum Lake). Possum Lodge was a perfect match for the old curmudgeon! :ROFLMAO:

Found this neat vintage Gulf station yesterday. Wanted to try the high test (as my Dad used to call it) at 39 Cents/Gallon, but the "dummy" in the rightmost window just stood there and never moved. :)

Time to research an old pic of this place from when it was built!

I just checked and unfortunately, there's no useful information or genuine old photos I can find anywhere on the 'net. It's in Heath Springs, SC.

Nope. Self identifies as a mannequin. Preferred pronouns are it/that.

Texaco was founded in Beaumont, Texas as the "Texas Fuel Company" in 1902 by Jim Hogg, Joseph S. Cullinan, John Warne Gates, and Arnold Schlaet. Its growth was so rapid and its reach so impactful that, 35 years later, Russell Lee took this photo of an abandoned Texaco station in North Dakota.

Nope, that was a different James Stephen Hogg who was Governor of Texas for a while. He only had one daughter and named her Ima.

I am guessing the Great Depression might have ended this small local business?
