Have been updating some older video's, and ran trains again. Just for relaxing. Am sruggling with the Yellowstone piping, have made 2 attempts at soldering long rows of pipe, and ain't happy with it, yet. So, pondering some kind of jig arrangement and just running some trains. This is a 2017 update, And today's running... It is amazing both how long it has been and how little/much has changed.
And as an additional fun update for the weekend, my layout got published! In the NPRHS magazine, The Main Streeter. Put in a plug for the forum there, too!
I remember when our layout got published in N Scale Magazine back in 2017. It was kinda like a....proud daddy moment...if that makes sense.
Yup, that sums it up very well!! Thanks guys! It has been a lot of fun, and this is just icing on the cake.
Did some cleanup out in the Trainshed Sat, and so felt it was a good time to make a small mess and cut in a switch or two. Which has become more necessary as running trains is fun, and restful. But, other days it is time to do some switching, and local work. Having only one destination for locals currently makes for a quick bit of 'work,' so it is time to add some more. Therefore, I began making some more switches, too. And just a teaser for a new NP&BH loco, whenever the decals show up.... And ran a train or two...
LOL, layouts just can't stay "finished" for long! Which do we like more, planning/building/tweaking a layout, or running it?! Maybe I should just accept that a model railroad is no different from the street and highway department. (at least in a rapidly growing area like Dallas-Fort Worth.) Change is inevitable; adapt or die! Maybe the key is to "plan for unplanned" revisions and never-ending "road construction"?
Jake-"Maybe the key is to "plan for unplanned" revisions and never-ending "road construction"?" Yup, that pretty much sums up the 'plan!' A general idea of where and what, with no actual end in sight! On that note, I have been busy with bidding jobs and building switches. Had the 'groove' going and managed to fabricate 5 more #8's, here's a couple video's of the last one.
So, it was a fun week off with a Railfair on each end. Lots of MRL action, I uploaded 54 video's that week! Mostly MRL, BA&P and some of the Punkins. Got home and ran trains the very next morning. Did not even wipe down track or anything, just turned on the DCC and drove. Figured there would be issues, and the CRC 6-26 amazed me! No problems! Picked up just a few items for the layout, some reefers and a set of Mil heavyweights by Con Cor. The Burp-Oh beer is hilarious, And my favorite MRL, And then just went out and ran trains today,
Have been running long days playing catch up, but do make a few minutes to run a train or two while also applying logo's for the NP&BH... And had a few train chases going on...
