Thanks! Well, not much on the layout yet this week. Did roll the 844 and train over to the yard, going to set them aside until I get the 844 NP-ified! And decide what I am going to do with the rest of the string....
So after getting the flat cars fixed, I had to run a couple of trains.... Then the "Yellowstone" had to pull some freight out of the yard, and is now headed for Foobie NPification!
Hope all goes well with Dorothy's surgery Alan. Will say a prayer for her and you too. The layout is looking great. Love the videos.
Naw, been skipping the NFL since them folk disrespected the nation. But, I have been chewing on another project idea. It was going to be a quick thing, but.....
The rabbit hole has a steam locomotive conversion in it, The EM-1 is being changed over to a NP Yellowstone, My method of ensuring the new profile roof adhere's to the body filler, After sanding off the details on the cab, And with the new profile, The pilot is stripped and ready for NP-ification, Some of the NP stuff is there, more to do,
Nice work! Those air pumps: are they white metal castings? Who makes them? The enormous firebox is very NP-esque. Did you have to modify the EM-1 firebox, or is it approximately the correct length?
The air pumps are by GHQ. I orders a few from Republic Loco Works years ago. I haven't had to modify the firebox, it was nearly big enough as is. Yes, there is a Moose cousin in the creek.....
Made a bit of progress here, the cab got a wind and rain deflector, the air pumps got paint and the stacks got replaced with a single, The headlight got swapped out, And the stack got a cap ring,
No progress on the EM-1, been outside in the cold all week, too tired to think about that work. So, just ran trains every night for a bit, here's a couple of video's, The two NP passenger sets meet, and almost "Meet," at the yard, And the 2216 gets to free rolling through the badlands, Until a short freight had to get out of the way, slowing 2216 down,
Making more progress on the Yellowstone, And ran my first stock train, now I have a dedicated stock yard track...
Had no 'steam' to do any builds this weekend, pesky 'work' stuff getting in the way. So, just ran a few trains, and cleaned some track. But, sometimes that involves a bit of wreck cleanup!
