It's Weekend Proto Fun time again. Will start out with a shot of the latest fallen flag railroad. This trio of KCS geeps was working the small yard in Monroe LA back in January 2023 on a rather cloudy day. It's bitter sweet to see KCS go but lets hope CP brings in some new interest to the operations. Of course it wouldn't be St. Patrick's day without something green! This shoving platform from a different fallen flag was spotted rolling through Saginaw TX about a week after that KCS shot above. Luck of the Irish to ya'll!
Nice Geeps! And on a coal load? Cool! Oh, I guess it is St Patty's Day... Here's some green! Four-of-a-kind, I win!!! (or something)
This is a shot I took Wednesday at the Port of Gulfport, MS as the daily port turn heads back north to the small KCS yard locally.
Let's get into the spirit (maybe some spirits too). Some red and some green: Just missing the duct tape... My Dad's photo, Ste-Therese, Quebec, October 1982.
NS 19G, en route to Conway from New Jersey, has 3 big units powered up, and 2 Geeps along for the ride. Wyomissing JCT, yesterday.
For some reason, I never seem to be out with my camera, when a KCS unit comes through. A few years ago, I managed to pull off the freeway and witness this meet on MRL, at Superior, Montana. The second unit is KCS #4595:
Speaking of "green" here's the 1964 of Hemi's pic, And headed back east yesterday.... And on to older stuff, just saw this outside of Miles City tpday.
