The NMRA has a train show at the Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, OH this coming March. I've attended this event in the past and it was a pretty good show. However, I have not attended it in the last ten years and have heard that it is not as good of a show as when I last attended. I will betraveling several hundred miles and would like some feedback on the show from anyone who has attended recently so I can decide whether to go or not. Many thanks.
Here's the link. https://www.railfest.org/ This would be a long single day trip for me (3 3/4 hour drive one way), but possible. There is a Waffle House nearby
the issue with that show in the past is that the Mount Hope show was on the same day. This year the Mount Hope show is cancelled. However we heard that the Mount Hope show is on, but scheduled a different date. This should be good for Kirtland show.
I know that one year the Kirtland show was upstaged by the World's Greatest Hobby Show in Cleveland. It was scheduled for the same weekend. A year or two prior to that there was a problem when the fire suppression sprinklers discharged when a sprinkler head was hit by a baseball. That caused the gyms to be unusable because the floors to buckle and the venders had to set up in very crowded hallways.
