There was a 'Bonnet on the Northgate Local on Sunday--leading a pumpkin GP60M. No picture, too inaccessible.

Had time today to stop and catch a few pics, first was a B&W,
    PIC_0588.JPG
    And then in color,
    PIC_0590.JPG

Had to go out to Hodges, and guess what? There is a coal hopper setting there,
    PIC_0595.JPG PIC_0598.JPG
I will have to look and see if it is the same one. And a train setting there, idling and doing nothing,

And the best way to start the New year, after not going anywhere at all yesterday, is getting to chase a train, three times in the same day! In the firsy video, after it stopped in the yard, a coal empty comes roaring in on the mainline!

So, after gassing up, off to Terry for two reasons, the train being one, and a visit to some friends being the first reason. So, catch a train,

While I was waiting for it, an eastbound coal load blew by! I thought I had started a video of it, but nope! Only got a few seconds as she rolled away, when I thought I was stopping the video! Dang!

Happens to me from time to time--usually autofocus hunting at the most inopportune time!

Not seeing the "V" train mentioned. Just an "M" manifest? Possibly an "H" Priority Manifest?

Had to make a run to Miles City yesterday, and caught one train, which was a neat one. It was just done getting fueled by truck on the siding at Tusler, east of Miles City, and we got parked in time to watch her start a roll west... with a bonnet and at the end of the train an SP&S hopper.

The "V" train started out looking that way, then ended up with a lot of other mixed stuff, probably an H train as they are some what common here.

Tusler. Is this former MILW track? Wow. A lot of bad wheels, pounding away on cold steel. I cannot help but to think a few future broken rails were getting their initial fractures here.

Tusler is just west of the Kinsey bridge. This is where the NP and Milw came together and parllelled each other into Miles. The Milw roadbed is very obvious as you drive the Valley road, with the NP roadbed closest to the road and the Milw squeezes closer to the river.
