    All,
    in 1970? I added the yellow hopper car see photo 1. while still in the mid 1970’s I obtained another 2-4-2 No. 249 along with a MARX set -see photo- which I swapped out the Tenders. I should mention that I Received one MARX SET -uncovered set- as a christmas gift were in I added a white Tank car another Boxcar. see photos

    The 1970s began the "MPC" era at Lionel when the toy division of cereal maker General Mills (Fundimension's Model Products Corp.) assumed production.

    Here's one of 6 LIONEL ALCO FA'S which MY Late Father and I worked on together The Chassis is from a A.T. & S. F. FA , I received second hand.

    I had the 2032 A-A pair. Nice. The worst was their nose emblem decals, which would chip and flake.

    I had a 202, UP in orange! Given to me by a neighbor in '64, it dates from '57 when Lionel was in rapid decline and their models were being stripped of features to save on cost. In this case, even the front coupler was deleted.
