Putting together a passenger consist to run behind a GN 4-8-4 and came up with a bunch of heavyweight cars lettered for the Santa Fe. Will be re-decaling them, but did not know if the GN ran Pullman lettered equipment, as these would then be usable for other rail lines as well. Thanks in advance.
Up until around 1947 and even for a few years after that, any car operated by Pullman was lettered Pullman. In 1944 courts ordered Pullman Incorporated to divest itself of either the Pullman Company (operating) or the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company (manufacturing). After three years of negotiations, the Pullman Company was sold to a consortium of 57 railroads, each lettering their cars for their own roads. I believe the Milwaukee road operated their own sleeping car service before that.
