Yep, It was. Doing a rebuild now. After the cleanup is done. Got about half redone today. I quit because my eyes were bugging me so more later. I had to order more connectors anyway. Should be here this week sometime. I have the foam i need for the extra length i am adding at the same time. Should have the addition done some time this coming weekend. I hope this will be the last addition. I am running out of room! I dono whos more fun when it comes to rebuilding layouts. Mike or me. Hes on update 19, i think with his new layout. I am on 7. I got a ways to go to catch up with him. Shots below of todays work.

I got one big mess in my train room. Moving it from the back wall to the side wall. The room is not square. So i can add 2 feet if i want but i think 9 feet total will work for me. That will make it 40X108 inches. Its been getting bigger over time. it started out as 36X96. Anyway i am starting the addition along with finishing the yard. I don't know if i should call this one 6.3 or 7 but i guess it don't matter. Now if i could get the lights to work. Not sure whats wrong with them. A bug to work on. Always something...

Don't know why but all three led lights in the track are dead. I have been told, but not sure if its true, but the electronics in the bulb go bad not the led inside the bulb. They were said to last 15000 hours so it may just be that. I checked with a regular bulb and all three light housings were hot with power and bulbs lit up just fine. Another thing coming in the mail. I got all kinds of goodies coming for the layout. This really put things on hold as i can't see the layout enough to do anything with it. So laters

Well, Godzilla has been back and to add that, i think a tornado came here too!! I got all the mountain and material tore off. The track off and the 2 inch foam on but i can't find any 1" foam. I checked all of them, Lowes, Home depot, Sutherland's, Ace, none have any 1 inch pink foam!! So, i am in a holding pattern for now. I got the power connectors and two packs of connectors to make sure i have good connections. I will need to extend the turnout control wire. I think i have some to do that with. Have plaster cloth coming too. Shots below, I know it looks like Poop!!

I'm only viewing via pictures but would it be better to start all over given the amount of destruction that has happened already? A fresh start so to speak.

Then i would be looking for more pink. They didn't have any pink foam in 4X8 sheets, 1 or 2 inch. I just have to wait till something comes into one of the stores.

Have you tried the local lumber yards besides the big box stores. They generally have a wide variety. My local lumber yard (No big box within 120 miles) has everything from I think 1/2" to at least 2".

Blue, but I believe the same. Usually they also have better lumber and plywood from my experience while working on our boat in Florida and I think ours has as good or better pricing.

No local stores here. I tried ace, sutherlands, home depot and lowes. This evening the computer shows 25 pcs 1X2X2 foam at Home Depot. I will be beating there door down in the morning. I should have a bit of foam left over so i can build mountains with Plaster Cloth. I'm back in the game. Man they upped there prices too!! Still worth it. I haven't done Fascia yet. With that i am using a green cloth to cover up all the wiring and other mistakes i made.

Ok, Been busy with the layout. Got to watching mikes update and it gave me the idea that it is time to get some work on mine done too. The two pieces of foam are glued and dry. I put out spacer sticks to hold the board to the layout. They are wood dowels that i use to put the two halfs together. After that was glues i took spray foam and filled all the gaps. When that is dry i can cut it down, flat Job almost done, I like it. Shots below. Laters

I started putting some of my saved pieces and track in place to see just how i need to go. Its not pretty at all. I will be cutting some of that piece pink insulation out, but need to see what i do need and how to place it. I may have to destroy the old mountain completely. Have to wait and see. I have two of the power feeders installed so i can run engines on that track. About the only way i know if it will jump track or run right on thru it. I hope the later. Shots of the latest tornado...hehe

Well, I got to it for awhile. I cleaned the board off and started by laying down track. That and power connectors. I used 3 of them both of the straights and one straight in the middle Thats around 2-3 foot for each. I know its too close but i find it works better if you add more of them. I started working the foam to get the mountain form going up. I am going to use that old mountain foam piece. I cut it back as i didn't like the shape. I will be adding more to that to make all the mountain go from the tunnel portals on each side. I still got plenty of big foam so i am good to go. I did throw out the small pieces that couldn't support anything. It still looks messed up but really its looking so much better. Good thing i have a mental picture of how i want it to be. Once i start plaster cloth it will start to take shape. Thats it for now, Laters
