Wow! Those GP7 old-timers still look good! :)

Some more old soldiers that still serve with pride.

In the summer of 95, before the BNSF merger that September, a couple of cub scouts on the siding in Rosenberg. Rebuilt GP7u 2204 has one of those wonky "Topeka"cabs like #7015 in Hemi's photo above.

More information about this operation, please?

I notice one unit has cab numbers and RR initials, while the other does not.

From 04/18/1992 at McBee, SC (that's MAC-bee around here :)), train 464 makes its way north on the former SAL main between Columbia, SC and Hamlet, NC.

I know almost nothing about it.
The WAMX note has merit, as I caught this Geep with WAMX reporting marks and Yellowstone Valley RR markings between Fairview and Snowden, MT:

Today's rather short CSX L647 (formerly F784) at Camden, SC. This is a Hamlet, NC => Columbia, SC manifest that covers 112.5 of former SAL main.

The typical eastern U.S overgrowth is evident to the right, with a forest of weeds overtaking the scene. I often stomp down weeds to help clear a view, but these need power equipment .....

Many years ago, I bought a folding pruning saw. It is compact, with the blade sliding into the handle for storage. I kept it in my camera bag for a rainy day--seems you could use one!

Nowadays, you would probably get arrested for "pruning without authorization from the authoritative authorities".

Whoa, that looks great Russell. Amazing actually. (y) There are a lot of thorn bushes in there and thanks to your work I didn't get a scratch.

Yesterday's 18D departing Columbia, SC for the Port of Charleston. This train operates nearly every day, originating at BMW's upstate automotive plant in Greer, SC which produced nearly 434,000 X-Class SUVs in 2021. 70% of the plant's volume is exported, making these long trains quite a sight.

Love that KATY. There are even some shots of both the inside and outside of our car, the New Braunfelds.
