Located in the basement of the Minot Railroad Museum in Minot, North Dakota, is a 1,000+ foot model railroad layout out. Enjoy the tour:

Nice! Is that a model of the Gassman Coulee trestle? Any idea what camera was used for those cab view clips?

Of all things I would expect to see here, it's the home museum layout! Minot is home... Yes, that is a scale model of Gassman Coulee Trestle, but even in N scale, it might be compressed from its 1,792 feet length. I forget if it is full scale or not. The layout used to be HO scale many years ago, when I lived here and worked on the layout 1999-2003. The museum is a great treasure trove of GN and Soo Line history in this part of ND. The Gavin Yard hump tower door, several artifacts from the tower (itself razed in Sep 2021), including the hump retarder controls and other relics are displayed.

Great video and yes would also be interested in what the camera was. Awesome depth of field. I can't imagine the wiring for one that went into that layout and the overall amount of work that has gone into it.

One thing that did surprise me was no passing track on that long upper level run as I remember.

The bridge is modeled after some real one, but I can't remember what he said. As for the camera, I used a Replay XD Mini. They are no longer made.

I recall they guys saying that the trestle was actually TOO long in N-scale, but yes it is supposed to be actual size for N.
