So I had another 'George Idea'. I have boxes of these Accu-Chek Softclix Lancets that I don't use anymore (I am on a Libre glucose monitoring system now). So the idea is to use the lancets for Mile Markers and Dwarf Signals. I cut the small square end off of the lancet and used what was left for the Mile Markers. Using my label maker I am making small numbers to stick on the mile markers. The needle end of the lancet pushes right into the plywood of the layout. I am using the twist off ends of the lancets for Dwarf Signals in Lucky Penny Yard. I painted them black and the lights green. They are non functioning but look cool anyways I am figuring out how I will be able to turn them and have the other side painted red...to indicate the switch is thrown for the diverging route into the ladder. . .
Cool Idea. Be careful of that freelivre2 system. I was using them for a bit and one of them almost killed me. I was away from home and my meter was showing low so i started taking snacks out of the machine sodas and anything else. The level kept going down. I was at 52 when i got home. I did a prick test and i was 461!! The Va has started to switch it over to the Dexcom G6 system. So far i like it better. I have only been off by 3-6 units of sugar level between the two meter tests. I only have only been on the new system a week, but i am still not trusting it even yet. I check it whenever it starts warning of low or high sugar. Just my two cents..
Smokey.... I even had false reading with the finger stick method. I guess no system is perfect. But I sure like not having to do the finger sticks 4-5 times a day .
Yep, I spoke to soon. The first one died last night. Everything looked right but it just stopped working. It was coding for awhile and then it said replace the sensor. So far good, But am keeping the pricker machine with me if this one goes nuts again.
Ahh, Just a note to self. Don't place sender in area where the seat belt comes around belly! That caused a break away from skin.
As the Town of THE grows due to a new large manufacturing company coming in...so does the demand for water for all the new residents ! The old well and water tower just wasn't going to cut it anymore. THE Town Council voted to upgrade the well and put up a new modern water tower. The kids hate it as they can't climb up there for any more tomfoolery ! .
The round top tank is a LARGE plastic Xmas tree ornament I bought eons ago to make the water tower on the original T.H.E. In the Trailer I just painted it blue. The support piece right under the tank came from an old clear decorative yard light set I had that I also painted blue. The tower itself is the barrel from one of my old insulin injectors That I painted gray. Put it all together and............ .

Rotary Snow Plows are cool. There is a Santa Fe/BNSF website that has a pictorial history of their units in color. In N scale Tichy has a Rotary Snow Plow kit that is inexpensive and you can use some of the parts.
I have been reading that most rotary snow plows are unpowered...as in their traction motors have been removed. Thus they are 'pushed' by a regular locomotive...controlled from the plow. someone correct me if i read that wrong...TIA
Moose's understanding is that all steam powered snow plows required a locomotive to propel them and were never self-propelled. The plow generated power only to drive the plow.
