just as a matter of curiosity .... how come no designs in HO scale ??? it would come close doubling your designs if you did some of them i other scales, namely HO, S and O
You'd probably have to manually mess with the rail size, but a CAD design can be transformed from one scale to another with the CAD tools. Don't know where/how in Fusion 360, but in OpenSCAD I could take my HO scale model and use the scale() operator (which just multiplies all the points by a number) to change it to 1:1 by scaling it by 87, then to N scale by scaling it by 1/160 All my CAD is currently in HO dimensions, but I'm thinking of making new CAD in "prototype" scale, 1:1, then scaling it to the intended modeling scale.
Good question. I'm somewhat selfish with my time being 78. Pretty much want to design/make items that I can use personally at this point in life. I do try and share them when I can with documentation on my site and posting print files for others to try or adapt. All of that takes a lot of time and I don't want to spend more time on resizing them. A lot of what I've posted on thingiverse.com can be manipulated into other scales fairly easily with various free software CAD orientated programs and I know that some have done that. They could also post those files for others to use on thingiverse.com. I realize I'll never finish the layout I've just started but hope to get as much done as I can so will continue to share most of what I'm doing when possible. Sumner
I think Fusion 360 is easy for this. You first go to Insert and Insert Mesh. Once it's on the screen, you go to the Mesh menus and select Modify and then Scale Mesh. You can scale anamorphically as well. I find this gauge calculator useful http://www.gardenstatecentral.com/scale_calc.html .
