It is always good to look after real world and ... to remember good ideas. It is also good to look at reference, inspirational photos in the Internet. While making this cliff I was inspired by Szklarska Poreba Gorna station: https://pl.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plik:St ... orna_2.jpg https://wrphoto.eu/details.php?image_id=35099 By the way my fictional station name is Szklarka - the name of waterfall located in Szklarska Poręba. The Kibri's Chateau d'Oxe station is also similar in general shape to Szklarska Poreba Gorna: https://www.transport-publiczny.pl/wiad ... 62406.html What I like with those small modules is that each one can be a small - short term project by itself. For the next one I will use Vollmer factory shop. I started with the preparation of the ground. I utilized Archistories envelope to make "beton" panels, painted with Faller beton paint. They were weathered with Artitec powders and 3D printed fence was added: The fence is still "under construction": The building is a rural bakery:
Bridge made of single track Maerklin 110 mm bridge cut into two pieces and modified: The river under construction:
Most of minimodules are still just a piece of plywood with tracks. But I am progressing. Next one (still work in progress) is still in the mountain climate. This is a rocky hill with mountain hut: Construction of the hill starts with the foam: Covered with special modelling pulp by Busch: The rock is painted and mountain hut and some (unfinished) vegetation added: I have internal discussion: more rock and some vegetation (as it is now) or more vegetation and just some smaller pieces of rock should be visible ...
I had some photoetched grave stones and small chapel (MBZ). I had to buy fence made by Archistories. The main theme of next module ich a small village cementary:
I made some progress with the river banks and water filling on river module: I am considering two options - to have only river or to have river and the rock on one of the banks on this river. Your suggestins ?
Pawel, The water in your river looks great! I like the banks as well. I like the river only option, the rock seems out of place, too abrupt. Nice rock though. Scott
This looks great, Pawel. Did you use natural aquarium gravel for the riverbed? What did you use for the water? I'm working on something similar and would like it to look as good as this. Thanks. Keep posting. Jim
Decision made - there will be only river. I am not going to use this mountain here. The area close to the river will not be flat. I plan to use it on another small module. Water is made with Woodland Scenic Realistic Water C1211. One very important note. I was not succesfull with water several times. The secret is that usage of white glue for preparation of riverbed and surrounding area may demage the whole work. The water is getting milky. My technique is: - prepare the shape of riverbed - use Woodland Scenic Flex Paste C1205 for the riverbed - you can to certain extend use it for shape creation as well - let it dry for 24 hours - paint Flex Paste (white) with dedicated Woodland Scenic Water Undercoat (I used Hunter Green CW4532) - let it dry - "glue" the actual riverbed with small stones, gravel, static grass, Woodland Scenic fine tufs and other material. Use the Realistic Water as a glue. It takes 12-24 hours to have it glued. - apply Realistic water in small quantities - let it dry for 24 hour and apply next layer. To create riverbed I used small stones and gravel found on the next road. I also added small pieces of small tree roots to represent fallen pieces of wood.
