Yesterday, I bought 104 back issues of Model Railroader magazine on ebay. I'm hoping to find the plans to a large assortment of factories, etc. so I can scratchbuild them.
Ok Deal. Here ya all go. So some of these has been here for a few weeks, I just haven’t gotten around to making a show and tell post about them quite yet. The Suburban Station and gas station are for my future layout, I got all 3 of the Merchant Row sets from Walthers. I really wish us N scale guys would get set 4 and 5 too. if this building looks familiar, it’s because I have it on my Rte 66 modules. I liked it so much, I just had to build it again for the new layout. Here ya go @Moose2013, just like Massey said… gots me 2 of them! Here is my observation car and one of my coaches. Now if you look close you will see something wrong with the coach… can anyone see what’s wrong? Oh and I ordered 2 but only got 1. Micro-Trains is sending me the second one, it should be here in a couple days. These 5 cars are going to be a Set of privately owned cars for the Cascade Southern. I’m thinking a maroon/grey paint scheme for them. Here is a Special run car I got from a user here. Not sure if he wants me to say who it is, but if he doesn’t mind I will post who. Small depot/station. I may have a home for this on the new layout, if not I know there will be something somewhere for it. I love little depots like these. I actually have 2 of these. My front to back and branchline modules will make what I call the 3 Bridges Road set and it will be mainly a rural scene with a train running through a valley. It’s going to need 5 or 6 houses. Another set of modules I plan on making is an intermodal facility so I need a mi-jack or two… I actually have 2. Now I just need to build the modules! I’m thinking 3 triples for the whole scene. I have been printing containers every time I have the 3D printer out for background stock. And lastly my latest in high speed rail transportation. Kato’s latest version of the TGV Réseau Duplex. I already have the decoders installed, I just need to program it and of course get it on the rails to test/play.
Atlas makes n scale ‘97 Ford F-150s. Various paint jobs, and sometimes they did ones with the emblems of railroads on the sides over the years. I believe they also currently have a version that is marked for Police (no lights) Greenlawn (lawn maintenance company) and one for Atlas themselves. These here in the Wisconsin Central paint are out of production and I’ve found all 3 sets I own on eBay. Atlas also makes ‘73 Ford F-150s and ‘93 Ford Explorers-various paint schemes, and some in railroads schemes. They used to make the Ford Taurus as well. But I think they stopped making those. Before I found these WC F150s, I made some other vehicles by putting a WC decal from the Microscale GP locomotive decal set onto the doors of two undecorated ‘93 Explorers. So if you’re in the modern-ish era and can’t find an Explorer or F150 in your favorite railroad, you can always get one an undecorated one in white, yellow, or orange and throw a decal on yourself. "Here is a Special run car I got from a user here. Not sure if he wants me to say who it is, but if he doesn’t mind I will post who." I hope he will allow it, that is nice car and I for one would like one.
He said go ahead and let you all know. It’s @RR Enthusiast He also said he still has a few more of the cars if anyone is interested send him a PM.
these are all kits and I have not yet assembled them, so yea there are loose pieces in the box. Look a bit closer, there are 2 parts that just don’t seem to fit.
Hmmm, Moose sees a coupler & coupler pin, diaphragms and interior end walls ... Oh for crying out loud, the trucks!
Laying low on purchases for the past few months. The occasional Microtrains 'tank car series' and some other releases. I have been receiving some pre-ordered Lowell Smith Railsmith passenger cars for Texas Special and Frisco Meteor recently. Lots more of those Railsmith models are scheduled for January and February.
Ding Ding Ding. You got it for some odd reason they shipped this car with oddball 4 wheeled trucks that look like they belong on a caboose.
There's a decal manufacturer (Circus City) on Ebay that does an n scale sheet for MOW vehicles. Not as lovely as those Atlas Fords (i'm a Ford man). Useful for MOW projects that aren't trucks too..
Just got this in the last few days - chassis from a Dapol 9F 2-10-0. Drivers scale out to 60" in n scale or 55" in 1/148 scale. Not quite what I wanted but it won't go to waste.
Just got delivered by the USPS. I'm happy Yeah a few are larger, the RED ones, but I don't care. I'll just pretend it's larger equipment. Time to unwrap them and get the keychains off them! All that matters is I like them and they were cheap! Almost sure I got the exact Diecast Masters Hydraulic Excavator for around $4.00 that I paid $15.00 for? Have to see what else they have. Planning on a heavy equipment Lease and Sales store, maybe? Or just spread them out on the layout, or both? The Excavator might, just might be 1:150, but it is so close to the 1:160 one I can't tell really, and the bucket actually swivels on the keychain one and not the 1:160 $15.00 one, go figure. And the bucket on the keychain dozer one moves a bit, but nothing moves on the front end loader, or whatever it is called. The one with the tires and the bucket? Sweet, nice score, and cheap! In the last picture, I have the big Red tractor backwards, my bad!
I got the 2nd passenger car and the 6 wheeled trucks today. So when I opened the passenger car, it also had the same odd 4 wheeled trucks... woo woo woo? Ok so there is another box in the package, and thankfully, it had 2 sets of 6 wheeled trucks! OK now just need to find the colors I want.
