Alright delivery number 2 and it's nice to know that Welch's Fruit Snacks 0.9 oz cost $250.00, dang that's some expensive candy. Oh and a free tote and Gold looking business card too ( maybe it $250.00 worth of gold? ). :) I don't even know what Welch's Fruit Snacks are? Anyway the real items are Two Brand New Kato ES44DC locomotives and the TCS Decoders K1D4 for them. And I'm rocking my New NCE PowerCab and learning it, that I got yesterday. And another shipment middle of next week.

    IMG_1609.jpg

Time to install my first New drop in decoders in my first New Kato locomotives that where not DCC Equipped, but DCC Ready. And learn how to program them and set them up eventually in a consist. I'll post more photo's and video's about them in my C&L layout thread later!

Looking forward to that @in2tech . I'm pretty much clueless about such things and will want to try it someday.

I've been in a buying frenzy lately, as I'm just getting back into N scale after being away for awhile. My latest purchase was for a bunch of Design Preservations Models modular walls.

The Welch's fruit snacks are like gummy bears. Actually pretty good, and including them in the box a nice touch from a good vendor.

Yeah gave a family member the Welch's stuff, me hate gummy bears, licorice, and stuff like that. Actually I am not even a big candy person. And yes even though I don't care for the Welch's, the candy, tote bag ( with their name on it of course ), and Gold business card was a nice touch for sure. I'll se in the future if it is just a First purchase thing or not. Cause I dig their quick shipping. Ordered Wednesday morning, got them Friday! very nice!

If that’s the same LHS I buy from online in the Chicago suburbs I can confirm you will get the “fruit” snacks every time. The bag was a one time thing on my first purchase. I received two business card/coupler & track gauges. One on first purchase, one on second. I believe the second one was a mistake. I’ve made larger orders from them after my first purchase, so I don’t think you have to hit a certain dollar amount.

Two Kato Gunderson MAXI-IV Double Stack Car 3 Unit Set! Both are exactly the same. Sure hope they work on my 11" radius, it stated that they would! Spending that money am I, kind of a Yoda type voice :)

They look really cool in the box. I like the way Kato packaged them! Show the customer what they are gonna get, especially for a local Hobby shop or retail store! IMG_1620.jpg

If they work, they will look really good being pulled by my Two NEW Kato CSX ES44DC's in a consist! You know there is a video coming :)

So I run Kato Maxi IV and Maxi I on my small layout-about 7 in a consist before the train basically catches its tail-using Kato unitrack 282-45 curves. They are 11” radius, I’ve had no issues with running across the four unitrack sections I have in a row on each side of my layout to complete an oval. I have a small, poorly designed yard-two number four turnouts in a row off a slight curve—and I do derail there when backing into the yard. I’m okay going forward. But that’s a yard design thing (it’s my first layout, and only going to last another 18 months before I move) not the well cars themselves.

    Best of luck!

Grumpy post human threw a package at Moose, but to be honest, Moose might have startled her...

Some arch bar trucks, because Moose really like arch bar trucks. Might even try wearing them as roller skates...

Some 36 ft reefer kits for to transport brewskies en masse...

Some undecorated 10-1-2 sleeper coaches in Tuscan Red for a railway up north...

Post Humans can get that way. Had my own such experiences with them.

I just received my own 10-1-2 Tuscan Red sleepers yesterday as well. I got a few other things too… I just realized I had not done much of a show and tell lately… I needs to get busy and fix that.

Never really liked the Union Pacific...their diesels have been painted almost the same way since diesels started running, especially after they ended the Southern Pacific that had so many great paint schemes. The only exception would be their steam 'greyhound' paint, and wouldn't you know it, Kato released the 4-8-4 in greyhound. I was able to resist buying one when they were just black, even after hearing how well they ran, but I just couldn't resist the greyhound version. Actually one of the most expensive N scale items that I have bought (other than some brass SP engines that I got years ago).

Yeah I get it. Luckily I have my second 2'x4' base up to form an L, or running these would be rough. I have one turn out, that causes issues at times, but I think that is on me. And I also don't have roadbed completed and nailed down properly yet too. They look awesome when running. It's usually the NEW ES44DC's that jump that track and not the well cars. Pretty sure I can adjust it when I get that base that is up against the wall in a location where I can work on it? I hope!

I really like them, and the new locomotives! Now the E5A and 6 car Zephyr set, I never run. Probably have an hour, no more then two, on just the locomotive, which runs fine on the layout. After the initial run, I never run the cars. It's just not meant for such a small layout! Live and Learn!

    Regarding disliking the Union Pacific...

I remember being [extremely disappointed] when, after the SPSF merger was nixed, they allowed the UP to consume the SP instead. (My grandfather was with the Texas & Pacific until WWII, and TP was later gobbled up by the Missouri Pacific, which itself was consumed by UP.)

I've always been an ATSF fan, so I guess I like BNSF now... In my book, BNSF will always stand for "Big New Santa Fe", especially since they consolidated into ATSF's HQ in Fort Worth, (pronounced "Foat Woth" [rhymes with 'doth'] by us locals).

It's interesting that ATSF ended up marketing themselves as simply "Santa Fe." Wonder if BNSF will do the same one day (or if the market will do it for them.)

I "model" (if you want to call it that) the ATSF. Been thinking about adding some modern BNSF steeds to the paddock. It'd be a cinch if I could correctly refer to them as Santa Fe as well.
